Vontaze Burfict causes fight at Bengals camp after dirty play on Giovani Bernard

Bernard is coming back from an ACL injury he suffered in November. So a low shot to the knee is an obvious place for Burfict to hit him.

I also read that he made the tackle in a non-tackling drill

Bernard defended Burfict by saying "he slipped."

That's why they're stuck in limbo. The Bengals aren't a bad team but they have throughout Lewis' time there been filled with guys like Burfict.

As long as Lewis keeps guys like Burfict and Jones around they will be nothing more than inconsistent LOOOOOOSERS. I'm good with that except we play them twice and we know the refs will do little or nothing about their cheap shots.

Or that of players in stripes that are or should be in prison, not on the football field.

I guess the one thing Burfict can't do is learn how to play the game.

He honestly would be one of the best linebackers if he could control himself.

I could be wrong, but I seem to remember that it was his behavior that prevented him from going high in the draft. His talent wasn't questioned, but his character certainly was.

You're completely right. He even went undrafted. You would expect that with getting older he would get more mature and at least learn from his mistakes a bit. But that clearly isn't the case. He's a complete knucklehead and that's not going to change anymore. I heard that he got a concussion in the last game, that's not going to help him either

I respectfully disagree. His biggest flaw is he can not control himself. Control has become a vital part of playing defense in this modern era.

Maybe back in the 70's where vicious hits were not frowned upon. Even then I believe he would be considered dirty. I have no use for a player who continually tries to ends careers.
