| Steelers done prematurely. Pirates burning roster to the ground, with Cole and McCutchen gone and rumor has it more to come. Tim Brown from Yahoo Sports sadly sums it up: - Tim Brown wrote:

Penguins are mediocre, not that I am a Penguins fan at all. | |

| Old post I know but I'm going to respond anyways. I don't think the Pens were mediocre by any means, they just lost some of their great supporting players from the previous two Stanley Cup championship seasons. You lose that kind of talent and chemistry and it effects your team, the fact they got beat by the Crapitals, a team they've literally owned over the past decade or longer, just goes to show how much those losses effected the team. Not having two championship goalies anymore hurt them as well, when you have a guy the caliber of MAF backing up Matt Murray you literally have interchangeable pieces and almost no drop off in play. Murray just didn't have a whole lot of help this last season. Pens will get better, right now they just need to plug the holes. Shouldn't take much to get them back into Stanley Cup contention. The Pirates though... Terrible. Getting rid of McCutchen was just dumb. _________________ "Success isn't owned, it's leased and the rent is due every day." - TJ Watt | |
