dead computer

well looks like the only time i will be on here is during my lunch break. i never realized how much i relied on my PC until it died. unfortunately, because ive spent all my money on christmas, i will have to wait until sometime in jan. to get a new one. the biggest problem is that all of my music is on it............time to break out the old "cds"

What is it doing or not doing? Laptop or desktop? error codes?

turns out it may only be a power supply issue. Thanks to my buddy dave, tomorrow i should be up and running

Rule of thumb is the more extreme the porn, the greater the risk of infecting your hard drive (double entendre!)

back from the dead. replaced the power supply (didnt know you could do that ) and now im rolling again.
only downside is now i cant justify new one yet.

The power supply was my first thought when you posted this as well, cause it didn't sound like a virus. We've replaced the power supplies on both our PCs and both of our laptops in the past few years.

There's no need to get a new computer, just some new parts. My PC is still the Sony VAIO tower that I bought back in 2001. It's had two new power supplies, replaced and added hard drives, added RAM, new graphics cards and two new monitors. All of those combined are still cheaper than buying a new PC package. Most of what you pay for in a PC is the operating system anyway, and if you know someone, or know where to download them, you can get those for free....especially if you prefer Linux.

yeah, thats kind of what i meant. im not very good with the diagnostic stuff but i have a buddy thats a genius when it comes to this stuff. he is going to hook me up
