Mike Bires Times Sports Staff

PITTSBURGH -- So far, nine different teams have played in the NFL's International Series in London. That means the Steelers could be playing abroad soon.

And because team chairman emeritus Dan Rooney is the U.S. ambassador to Ireland, there's speculation that the Steelers could be playing in Dublin

"That's a possibility, although from what I understand, probably not 2012 as far as Ireland is concerned," Steelers president Art Rooney II said.

That's because Notre Dame is playing a game against Navy in Ireland this year.

"We may not want to piggy-back on top of that game," Rooney II said. "If it's going to be Ireland, it will more likely be 2013."

So far, the Bears, Patriots, Dolphins, Giants, Saints, Chargers, 49ers, Broncos and Buccaneers (twice) have played regular-season games in London's Wembley Stadium over the past five years.

I don't like this overseas crap. If they want football, let them start their own league.

I don't like it either. What the hell do we as true fans get out of the deal?

And, by the way, they DID have their own league and it failed no matter what they tried to call it (World League of American Football/NFL Europe/NFL Europa).

This is all about Goodell's and the league's unbridled greed to find a couple more thousand fans to bleed dry of their cash. Nothing more.
