| Steelers Prepare For Thursday’s NFL Draft April 23, 2012 6:30 PM
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — The Steelers have depth issues at a variety of positions.
They can use help on the offensive line, at inside linebacker and in the defensive backfield. Potentially running back as well.
So the draft board is wide open, and one of the things the Steelers do better than just about every team is they don’t miss on their first-round draft pick.
Every first-round pick since 2000 has either starred or contributed in Pittsburgh.
“You can’t miss on (picks) one, two or three,” Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert said. “Those are premium picks. You shouldn’t miss on a first-rounder. To me, that’s a given.
“The twos and threes, if you miss on one of those it sets you back. You better hope you got lucky in the later rounds to compensate for that.”

| Good read Nice and short for me right now is good. I don't see a need for us to move anywhere on the board except maybe down if we could get an extra 2 or 3 or both, but who would give us that unless there guy was still there. If the FO has one of these in mind they will never show their hand. I think someone like Hightower will be our #1 this year. You know best player available. | |

| SI.com's Peter King has the Ravens trading with the Lions to pick Dont'a Hightower ahead of the Steelers in his mock draft. _________________ Wallace108: Jon, how the hell do you expect any of us to ever follow your posts? | We need someone who can jump onto a pile of people and then celebrate like they made the tackle _________________ Wallace108: Jon, how the hell do you expect any of us to ever follow your posts? Nobody will ever be able to do that as good as Ray Lewis. _________________ -"I stand corrected... But I absolutely and wholeheartedly fart in the general direction of almost every other thing you have posted to this point."- | |

| would like to see the Steelers draft some quality o=linemen but l don't want the Steelers to reach for them i still want BPA picked when they pick. hopefully the o-linemen fall to the steelers the talant matches the quality of o-lineman with the round he is pick. _________________ "try too pay as little taxes as possible it only encourages them."
