Running back stops one yard short. Talk about a feel good story.

it's just a game, and that RB proved that there is more to live than the 100 yards between end zones. Kudos to him and the coaching staff for putting others above themselves and the game.

Fantastic story.

Not to bring any negativity to this great story, but the first question that popped into my head is whether the opposing coach was told prior to the game about that possible scenario. That would take away from the moment having the opposing coach out on the field yelling and screaming about what could appear to be an unsportsmanlike play.

Wow good point but wouldn't that also say something about the other team as well, after all letting an arch rival score a game winner and then not a peep outta the coach, players or staff in this day and age. If that were the case it would be refreshing to know they had the fortitude to keep it under wraps so the kid could re-live the memory with honor. Not saying that's what happened just saying if it did it's amazing that it didn't come out like that in the press...at least yet.
