Marlins, Yankees discussing A-Rod for Heath Bell

One highly paid third baseman couldn't bring the Marlins the success they were hoping for. Maybe a second one will. The New York Yankees are in discussions with Miami to trade Alex Rodriguez to the Marlins, according to Keith Olbermann, with the Yanks taking on most of A-Rod's remaining salary in the deal. Another option appears to be swapping Rodriguez for Marlins closer Heath Bell, with the Yankees taking on Bell's contract in exchange for paying less of Rodriguez's.

Interesting. Yanks pay for their championships, and A-Rod wasn't worth half of what they paid him in his last contract.

Since their last appearance in the World Series, the Yankees have been trying to buy their way back to it. A-Rod has now become expendable, and most likely so has many others on the yankee's roster.

Agreed he is way over paid.

Maybe instead of worrying about possible trade scenarios for their overpaid 'roid reject, the Yankees should concentrate on oh.... I don't know.... trying to win the ALCS that they are currently in the middle of!
