| Ironhead’s son apparently is a Potty Mouth.
Per a league source, Steelers defensive lineman Cameron Heyward has been fined $22,050 for using abusive language toward a game official during Sunday’s loss to the Buccaneers.
The incident happened in the third quarter, after Bucs running back Doug Martin scored on a three-yard run. The broadcast of the game shows Heyward gesturing as he complained to the official about a holding penalty that wasn’t called on the play.
The penalty is another example of the apparently lack of discipline on the current edition of the Steelers’ franchise.

How much did the ref get fined for blowing the obvious holding penalty? They apparently were the only people who didn't see the holding. Glad they didn't hear the words spewing from my mouth. I'm curious to how the NFL determines the amount of these fines.

| No kidding. Maybe if the jackwagon standing right there could make a proper call, he wouldn't have to retaliate.
I'm with you Ella, where they come up with these numbers is silly. _________________ Twitter: @SteelersYak

| I found out that the fines are based on a % of game check. That is why they have weird amounts.

| I'm certainly OK with a player being flagged for using abusive language toward a ref. But a fine? Seriously? This league is becoming a joke. _________________ If you're going to be a smart ass, you'd better be smart. Otherwise, you're just an ass. | |

| As for Goodell, 31/32 teams gave him ALL the power. One voted no, that would be the one that gets fined the heaviest.
The fine money goes to charities designated by the NFL according to this article:
http://mentalfloss.com/article/53212/where-does-nfl-fine-money-go
"According to the NFL, all money collected from fines goes to charitable causes, including supporting its retired players. In a 2010 statement, the NFL responded to public comments from Pittsburgh Steelers safety Ryan Clark, who publicly challenged the NFL to give back fine money in the event of a player lockout. They clarified that all on-field fines go to the NFL Player Care Foundation—which provides medical, emotional, and financial assistance to retired NFL players—and the NFL Players Association Player Assistance Trust, a fund that helps professional and amateur football players' families in a crisis. The money can also go to various disaster relief and health-related charities backed by the NFL.
In a 2011 interview with the AP, NFL director of community affairs David Krichavsky said that some players will even request what charity their money goes to, but said that the league will "stay universal" in distributing the money."

This is why we need to raise the minimum wage. _________________ If you're going to be a smart ass, you'd better be smart. Otherwise, you're just an ass.

This is why we need to raise the minimum wage. Minimum wage is damn near catching up to what some people make with a 4 year degree. But that's a whole other conversation. _________________ Twitter: @SteelersYak

But that's a whole other conversation. Probably because many people with a 4 year degree can only find minimum wage jobs. Perhaps they should file for charitable status and get some help from the NFL. _________________ If you're going to be a smart ass, you'd better be smart. Otherwise, you're just an ass.

| It just seems like Goddell takes every chance he gets to pick on us. I'm surprised Harrison isn't getting fined just for being on the field when Heyward said it. I wonder if he gets a portion of the fines before they send it off to charity? Hate is a strong word so let me say this: I HATE THAT SON OF A BITCH!!!!!

| Well if the ref would have called an obvious holding call, he wouldn't have been verbally accosted by Heyward. _________________ STEELERS FAN CIRCA 1985"He had no teethe, and he was slobbering all over himself. Unlike the players, NFL officials are allowed to make mistakes without fear of any consequences. Goodell leads by example. _________________ If you're going to be a smart ass, you'd better be smart. Otherwise, you're just an ass. | |
