- Roethlisberger, who has one year left on his deal beyond this season, has had an up and down season but the Steelers are intent on securing him for the duration of his career and intend to begin contract talks with his early in the offseason, very likely by the combine, sources said. They are prepared to make the two-time Super Bowl winner among the highest-paid quarterbacks in the game and fully realize that he will command $20-million a season.
The Steelers are a small-market team and the dynamics of their cap gymnastics will change with a quarterback taking up that much cap space, but there is no dispute within the organization that Roethlisberger is worth it, and he is far and away their offseason priority.

| No, no, no. You guys have it wrong. If Haley doesn't go, Ben is headed to Steelers West *geesh* Maybe Ben isn't the most consistent QB in the league, but he is by far one of the best and definitely worth keeping. I mean, what are you going to do? Draft a big name college QB and hope he transitions well to the NFL (look at the RGIII situation). I think they should draft a QB (maybe in 2016) if one catches the eye, and let him shadow Ben for a few years. Ohhh wait.......forgot that we have Landry Jones waiting in the wings. _________________ | |

| IMO, the Rooney's need to secure Ben long term and in the next 2-3 years find and groom a suitable replacement (ala Favre and Rodgers). _________________ 60 MIN 53 MEN 1 NATION STEELERS NATION I am the MAN that created the MYTH that started the LEGEND Don't choose good when greatness is available! | |
