| BOTTOM LINE One-year starter at free safety, posting outrageous ball-production numbers. A feast or famine free safety whose lack of field discipline and willingness to tackle will be more heavily exploited in the NFL. Rumors of his lack of football character combined with absolutely terrible tape when it comes to tackling could sabotage his draft stock despite his enormous ball skills. _________________ This is the strangest life I've ever known.

Worth it in the seventh round.

Worth it in the seventh round. Mr. Lake teach him to tackle. We need Ball skills. Sounds kinky don't it ! _________________ Steelstoned1972 Steelstoned @Steelcrazycraig1972

| It was just shown on NFL network that the Steelers had a 64% draft approval rating by the fans, everyone else in the AFC North was at least 20 points higher. Are these fans smoking crack? _________________ | |

It's your casual fan who and I hate being mean isn't that well informed. They're upset because Colbert didn't use the first two picks on corner. But yeah looking at the draft, I don't see how any fan wouldn't be happy. We filled some very big needs.

| I'm never going to bitch about the fact that the team took a chance on someone in the seventh round. I'd have to dig it back up, but the percentage of players that make the final roster taken in the sixth and seventh round -- that's just making the 53, not developing into anything special -- is extremely low. Taking a flier on a player with that amount of upside is never a bad thing.
Let him come into camp and compete. If he's not willing to bring effort then it's going to be a quick release and he can latch on elsewhere. If he is serious at making a run in this league and dropping that far in the draft has woken him up and shown him there is considerable amount of work to be done, then this pick was spot on.
That's what the later rounds are for -- depth and upside. Walton brings depth, Holliman is the upside.

| They addressed almost all their needs. Now they'll get what they need via undrafted free agents at various positions, and complete the roster going into camp.
A very solid draft. _________________ I'm a shell of my former self.

not only that I think marcus golden and will allen are better than any safety remaining since the fourth- fifth round. Yeah, I think the entire class has a good chance of making the 53, with the exception of Holliman. I have a feeling that Ian Wild will emerge as a quality special teamer and backup at Safety. Chickillo will have to beat out either Lemon or Jones to make the 53 IMO.

I think the whole class has a good chance of making the 53 except Chickillo. I had my concerns about him pre-draft and those concerns remain. I don't think he's a good enough pass rusher to make his case for the final roster. Joey Porter said in an interview after Chickillo was selected that he only expects there to be "4 to 5 outside linebacker spots" on the roster. It's not going to be four, but if it is indeed five, etch in stone Jones, Harrison, Moats and Dupree. After that it gets murky, but I'd like to think Howard Jones has made the necessary strides to state his case for the 53.

| This seems like a C- draft to me. Dupree seems like a great pick but CBs taken seem like a loss. The Steelers have not proved they really wanted to improve the Secondary, more like a " well we better take somebody" attitude.

casteeler said something negative about the Steelers?! holy smokes! breaking news! thank goodness you're here to set us straight about the players the Steelers took literally before any of them have done anything.hey, quick - what would you give the Ravens' draft? A+?

| the Steelers spent 6 of 8 picks on defense, two of which were corners and another was a free safety. this isn't enough dedication to improving the draft. spending a top-100 pick on a cornerback isn't enough, then turning around and drafting another corner two rounds later is still not enough.
if the Steelers dealt up to draft a corner, they'd be shit on for losing valuable draft picks. because they took corners in the second and fourth round, they aren't showing enough dedication to improving the secondary.
they can't win. | |

| Lol.
With that being said we should've dug up barbaros corpse, drafted it, beaten it, then start him at cornerback.
He's tall.
....and fast.
Has feet for hands though.
