| He's out Sunday but most likely it's because we play the Ravens on Thursday(meaning short week) and they want him 100% healthy since it's a more important game.
Edit: From Dale Lolley he doesn't believe it's serious nor has he heard anything about it being serious. Like I said it most likely because of the short week coming up _________________ Known as BLACK_AND_YELLOW from SF

- I so much love watching the overhype after a weeks performance. The first week vs the Patriots*******, Shazier was nowhere to be seen, but now that he played 1 great game, he is already being anointed the next great playmaker.
Hey, I hope he becomes a perennial pro bowler and all, but its just one game folks. I'm more impressed with the way that Heyward, Tuitt play and how they disrupt things so that some other guys like Shazier, Moats, Dupree were able to get to the football.
The arrow is pointing up, but its still a long way from being as good as Kendrell Bell.
One thing that's good about hype, it means something good happened.
You're right about the contributions from Heyward, Tuitt, Moats, and Dupree. When I re-watched the game I made an effort to focus on them. All were very good. Heyward and Tuitt were very disruptive at the line of scrimmage.
Earlier, I said Shazier reminded me of Jack Lambert, the way he shot through the gaps, busting up running plays in the backfield. Well, at least for 1 game. Heyward And Tuitt were big reasons for that.
Jack had help in front of him too. You are correct. Its just the comparisons to Polamalu and Lambert after 2 reg season games in his 2nd season is downright hilarious.
He is impactful and I hope durable to having a 10 year career in B&G. But I honestly think the past 3-5 seasons, the best ILB's in the game were Patrick Willis and Luke Keuchly and neither of them had the impact on the game that Polamalu did in his prime.
I can honestly say that maybe 5 of our front 7 are solid or upper echelon. Will be nice to watch them keep improving. Hey I never said he was a better tackler than Polamalu. Only that he could be. Cam Thomas could be a pro bowler.
Shazier lit it up in preseason and in NE (8 tackles) so hes been on an uptick thats meteoric compared to last season. The injury of course had certainly a lot to do with that though.
Its like predicting that Antonio Brown could be a hall of famer. Sure its technically too early to say but something about the way he carries himself, prepares himself, and of course plays the game gives a strong possible foreshadowing to him making a speech in Canton. Hype is fun! ...a speech in Canton?!? Might be a little early to get on that foreshadowing.
Hype is all sizzle and no steak. Just like the Devin Gardner, Tyler Murphy, Taj Boyd preseason hype and 2nd coming of Kordell Stewart comparisons. Or the Day 3 draft hype of Gerod Holliman and comparing him to Ed Reed. Shazier can play and if people watched tape of him at OSU they saw him scrape his way thru the trash and make tackles.............all I am saying is that I find the over reacting hype whores on this board to be very amusing.
I rewatched last weeks game a bit more and I see Tuitt, McLendon and Heyward holding the point of attack and beating their man. I see a leaner RT Gilbert holding down the right side, while DeCastro battles, but is more like Brendon Stai than Alan Faneca, but you cant post about something of substance like interior line play on a board like this....you need to hype the sizzle, not the steak. Antonio a speech in Canton not Shazier but yeah I'm getting your argument about the D line its not falling of deaf ears.

If its Sean Spence, PLEASE let him play with FIRE! Alex Kozora @Alex_Kozora Spence will start. He's the Mack. Could rotate Vince in nickel but Spence is capable there, too. https://twitter.com/Alex_Kozora

| I was kinda surprised to see Shazier in a sling. Anyone think he can go sling-to-starter in four days? I am skeptical, but he did seem to be fairly active on the sideline. | |

Just posted the same observation in another thread. Sling to starter in 4 days is asking a lot.

| I'd rather rest him and get him back to 100% instead of risking further injury obviously. I mean after seeing what he is capable of when hes healthy I could understand babying him a little but I really hope he doesnt turn out to be one of those guys who only play 7-8 games a year. _________________ | |

My thoughts exctly when I saw it, could be a couple of weeks before he's back imo.

| An open letter to Steelers LB Ryan Shazier
By Daniel Sager
Pittsburgh Steelers LB Ryan Shazier will miss his third game of the 2015 season this Monday against the Chargers after the effects of a Week 2 shoulder injury have apparently lingered far longer than he or his coaching staff had hoped.
An era of keyboard tough guys and failed high school benchwarmers have led to an outcry of animosity towards Shazier, a 23-year-old young professional with the weight of “fixing” a struggling defense on his shoulders.
Shazier was fantastic in his brief action, particularly in a 15-tackle effort against the 49ers that saw him notch first sack of his young career. Despite missing two full games, Shazier is still a top 100 tackler in the league with 22 stops for the season.
In fairness to the detractors, Shaizer has only started 11 of 20 possible games in his career. The soon-to-be nine full games missed by the former first-round pick have worn through the patience of a mostly-sensible fan base.
But consider this: The Steelers are 9-2 when Shazier plays. That’s a better winning percentage than Ben Roethlisberger provides.
The speedy linebacker wasn’t exactly a popular selection in 2014, especially with All-American C.J. Mosley still on the board. Mosley’s one-year ascension to the ranks of a Pro Bowler also helped wear out Shazier’s welcome.
And while Mosley is a fine, fine player, Shazier is the cookie-cutter blueprint for the modern day NFL middle linebacker. He’s tremendously instinctual, he’s a workout warrior, but still country strong and he runs as fast as most cornerbacks. He was a Week 1 rookie starter in Dick LeBeau’s defense; a nearly impossible feat.
Just 20 games into his career, Shazier is “soft.” He’s called an injury risk. Some are calling him a draft bust. Others are erroneously questioning his toughness.
Clearly, it’s taking a toll of on the young linebacker:
I hate when ppl talk, but don’t know what there talking about! Shut Up! Only if you had a clue.
— Ryan Shazier (@RyanShazier) October 10, 2015
People assume all injuries are questions of toughness as long as the ailment in question isn’t a knee or head injury. Linebackers aren’t ever supposed to get injured.

| The guy needs to worry less about the fanbase and more about himself being productive. You cant help the club from the tub. | |
