| Tomlin didn't ignore wide open underneath routes to force passes to deep WRs for 3 INTs and a pick-6 _________________ OW MY BALLS! | |

Maybe so, but after several of those decisions isn't it Tomlin's job to step in and ask WTF is going on and then make sure that something's done about it? _________________

Ben Roethlisberger True. Alex Smith to Jeremy Macklin last week just looked like they were toying with the Ravens defense. Ben to AB, Bryant, Wheaton, Miller should have done better than "checkdown Alex Smith".

3rd and 29 ....no fffing problem when its vs the steelers secondary The secondary is beyond terrible. Has been for like 5 years. And yet they keep failing to address that EVERY SINGLE OFFSEASON. And they will again this year. The Rooneys are oblivious No the Rooney's aren't oblivious, they're just unable to accept the fact that it's been over 30 years since linebackers roamed the earth. _________________

True, but he's got to get his guys focused on these 'gimmies'. You don't look great against the bengals and Broncos then look incompetent against the Ravens by accident: it's lack of preparation and focus. Like I said, the Noll steelers always took care of these gimmies. But this losing when they should winning stuff is happening too often with Tomlins teams.

| Ben Roethlisberger sucked today. He did pass up open underneath routes to force it deeper down the field.
My point was that Tomlin put his quarterback in a position to not be in any kind of rhythm throwing the ball, and he limited the number of times the offense was going to get the ball by almost exclusively running the ball in the first half. Ben had 8 attempts with just a few minutes left in the first half, and a few of them were WR screens behind the line of scrimmage.
It's great if you can run the ball a bit, but you need to score points. The NFL is now a game where you score points with the passing game. The run usually has more of a complimentary role anymore.
The Ravens played a lot of cover-2 today. The way to attack that defense is with seam routes. They only attempted a few all game. Again, Ben missed some open guys open underneath, and the receivers really played badly. AB was not good today. He dropped a TD when he bobbled the ball in the end zone, and he should have had another huge gain that didn't count because he didn't drag his feet and go down before stepping out of bounds. Bryant is a big, physical guy that needs to start playing like it. He should have had that last deep ball that was thrown perfectly. He went down and didn't catch the ball. Just a shit show all the way around.
Today was a game where we really missed Bell. His elusiveness after catching the ball would have really helped today. That's not a knock on Williams. I love the guy. We just got to see why Bell is so valuable in the passing game. He would have had a chance to have a field day today against this defense.
There was no pressure on Mallet most of the game. It was just a real headscratcher today watching this team screw the pooch over and over again.
Ben will take a lot of the blame, and he deserves it, but there were many contributing factors today. _________________ I'm a shell of my former self.

| So disgusted. We gave the Ratbirds their Super Bowl victory. Now they can gloat all offseason over their meaningless win. Ryan Mallett? really? Just speechless right now. | |
