Playoff fever in Cincinnati - not

As game day approaches, the average price paid on the secondary market for tickets continues to fall, according to analysts who track ticket prices.

The average price has fallen about 3 percent to $172 for Steelers-Bengals tickets bought in the last three days compared to earlier in the week, according to New York City-based ticket search engine SeatGeek.com.

As of Friday afternoon, the cheapest seat available through SeatGeek was $78 including fees....

“It just hasn't moved the way it should,” said Alex Burkhart, general manager of Covington-based Tixers, which is part of OneUp Sports. “I think the weather is steering some people away.”

The temperature around the 8:15 p.m. kickoff could be in the low- to mid-40s with wind gusts near 10 mph and rain, according to the National Weather Service office in Wilmington.

Add in the Bengals’ recent playoffs woes and quarterback Andy Dalton’s injury and that also may have cast a pall on ticket prices, said Adam Clemence of Chicago-based ticket seller Vivid Seats.
