Jerod Mayo to retire at age 29.

Seems a bit young to retire, but I guess he has the $$$ and a ring. What else is there left?

I'd be gone after that second contract is up. No reason to stay, at all. I'd be Superbowl champion, on the wheaties boxes, women lining up outside my door.

I think some of these guys are reevaluating the health risks later in their lives after years of playing a violent contact sport. Can't say that I blame them. Make your money, achieve your dream of being a pro, and get out with your health relatively intact. Pretty intelligent actually.

Any word on guys like Marshall Faulk, Eric Dickerson, Marcus Allen, John Stallworth, Kevin Greene, etc that had long NFL careers having signs of CTE??

Seems like its being portrayed that everybody who plays football is at serious risk. What about those guys?
