Timmons leaving might be a good thing for the Steelers pass defense?
Now the Steelers can experiment with their defensive dime defense the nickel with Timmons got picked apart (Timmons making to much money to take off the field) I'd like seeing Mike Mitchell playing the LB spot Timmons left I think at this point in Mitchell's career he would be better playing closer to the line of scrimmage. Maybe the reason JJ Wilcox is on the team also think in a dime defense the Steelers have DEs in Bud Dupree and TJ Watt. DTs in Hargrove and McCullers as a base DT.
I think McCullers is a true DT bulldozer in a dime defensive line with Hargrove, Hayward, and Tuitt next to him and the backups to keep them fresh.
What Casey Hampton was to the run snuffing 3-4 defense, 6'7" 350lbs DT McCullers could be to a four down lineman in front of a dime defense.
Steelers dime defense are going to play zone in their dime defense windows are smaller, who are they manning up on which receiver? are they zone blitzing split second pass rush turnover Big Ben plays another year.
