| This probably isn't worth starting a thread over, but I felt like saying it. Maybe it's just my perception, but for a long, long time, it seems the offense and defense can't play well at the same time. Or rarely at least.
When the offense is clicking and scoring, the defense can't stop the opposing team and they end up trading points. When the defense is clicking and shutting down the other team, the offense can't move the ball and settles for field goals at best.
This is why almost every game is close and comes down to the final possession or two, regardless of how good or bad the opposing team is. It's why they can't bury weaker teams.
I don't know what the problem is or what the solution is, but it's something I've thought for a long time. Even against weaker teams, the Steelers often fail to look dominant because the offense and defense can't seem to play dominantly at the same time. _________________ If you're going to be a smart ass, you'd better be smart. | We talked a lot on here about the lack of complete games. | |
