Tomlin signed through 2021

I am OK with it. It aligns with Ben's contract. Makes sense.

He is better then most coaches out there. His record speaks for itself. Hopefully with the AB and Bell drama over he has learned his lessons about treating some players differently. He needs to get this team back into SB contention quick like.

I think they should fire Tomlin and if no one picks him up sign him back on the cheap. Why wait until mid season?
I agree Wally by mid season even if we're 7-1 I'll probably want him gone for some stupid reason. We have to create our own drama if no one else does.

Seriously though I hope we stay focused, healthy, and aggressive all year. I could be wrong but the only position I think we might struggle is at TE and it's way to soon to tell there. Here's to McDonald staying healthy.

Interesting fact here pointed out by Ed Bouchette: Tomlin was extended, but Colbert was not. Colbert's contract is up after this season.

it really shows ronneys lack of wanting to win or his concern with the reputation of the franchise
there was NO good reason not to wait until the end(or even 3/4 season) to see if things have improved with the chemistry/leadership/discipline status of this team after the 'cleansing'.

i fully expect 3 more years of underachieving, now
if tomlin felt any heat during the off season to get his crap in gear, he now can relax. he can continue to go thru the motions knowing the owner is happy with the teams production

I relate it more to the Ben contract. Ben and Tomlin are now joined at the hip, for better or worse. Honestly, I expect when Ben hangs them up, Tomlin is gone unless there are deep playoff runs or a SB appearance.

My opinion: Colbert is on a much shorter leash. He also needs our draft picks to develop into great / HOF type players and not just endless role players.

man, i dont see it that way.
tomlin is a smart guy. smart enough to know that ben has carried him his whole HC career and should hang them up when ben does
BUT tomlins ego is so huge he wont want to admit it and will want to prove to people that he can win without cowhers players.
at this point i hope he stays 10 more years. that will be enough time for his regular season record gets knocked down and it gives him the time to not win with his own qb

I should like to see what Tomlin can do with his team now that the two biggest divas/distractions on the roster are long gone.
