Ben Roethlisberger’s salary is off the books, and the league-wide cap is bloated as the revenue-sapping effects of covid diminish. The Steelers have the ability to maneuver and make a splash in free agency. But before that is a consideration, the first priority is weighing who of their own to bring back.

O-line help would be nice.

I'd like to see them spend $50 million in free agency getting a couple of the top lineman in football in free agency.

I'm kinda split on this topic. Do they spend heavy on keeping some of the more talented young guys (Minka, etc) and continue to build through the draft? Or go outside and load up with talent? I know they seem cap rich right now, but that stuff goes fast when locking in key guys.

I think they definitely have to lock in guys like Minkah. I know what you're saying about cap space - but I still think they should be in a good position to sign a few top linemen in addition to keeping key talent.

That is, unless they do something foolish like spend $ on a free agent QB.

Need to spend some money in FA to lock in solid proven OL and DL people and add some with the draft. Go out and get a young proven Guard like Corbett from the Rams that is ready to go he is 26 and has the work to prove he is ready to go.

We give Najee a decent line to block for him we take off a ton of pressure whoever we have at QB it's just that simple. We went cheap last year on OL and it showed exactly what happens when you go cheap.

Yes Najee is the wear down a defense type of RB that could take a lot of pressure off a young QB if the o-line is upgraded. QB security blanket TE Freiermuth to help take pressure off a young QB and the run game then hit them deep.

look at the Titans with their o-line and running game it sure makes Tannehill look good.
