Upon Further Review: Steelers
November, 28, 2011
By Jamison Hensley

Revisiting the Pittsburgh Steelers' 13-9 win at the Kansas City Chiefs:

The Steelers' lousy play on offense can be attributed to many things from Ben Roethlisberger's broken thumb to inconsistent blocking by the line to strange play calling (Mewelde Moore running in the red zone?).

The bottom line: Pittsburgh was rusty. The Steelers looked like a team that just had two weeks off between games. Luckily for Pittsburgh, this performance came against Kansas City instead of Baltimore, New England or even Cincinnati for that matter.

The Steelers' offense relies on timing between Roethlisberger and his receivers. Last night, they were out of sync especially on the deep throws.

But it should be only a matter of time before the Steelers get the chemistry going again. Pittsburgh averaged 25 points in the four games before its bye. Roethlisberger's passing-yard totals in those four games were: 361, 365, 330 and 245.

The Steelers' track record this season says the offense's performance was a small bump in the road.

We will put it all together this week against the Bengals. We have to because they're not exactly chumps this year.
Arians can't seem to make it through an entire season without shoving his own head up his ass. Hopefully it was just one game.

Yeah because it was Arians' that caused drops by Wallace(2), Heath(2), Brown(1), Moore to fumble at the 2, Ben to make a stupid throw into double coverage, and the offense as a whole to commit a dozen penalties.

It's already been more than one game for Arians shoving his head there. It seems like when he gets a lead, he sticks his head there and forgets what got him the lead.

That would be the easy road. Or you could go back and look and say oh wow the defense started doing x taking away y, and when we tried a, b missed his block, and c got called for holding, and d dropped the ball, and E fumbled. Fuck it , nevermind, you're right, Arians is just stupid. He can't design a play, coach a player, call a game, exploit a weakness, make an adjustment...

Right on all accounts. I know there are plays that players fail to do their job and it breaks down. I know not everything is Arians fault, but when it comes to games like this past Sunday night I believe he failed to put together a more involved game plan or make adjustments to what the chiefs did during the game.

i agree with supy on this one. we cant blame brucie for this loss. if we had executed the plays properly we would have won by a large margin. im also going to give some credit to the chiefs d
