Tomlin Breaks Down Season, Looks Ahead To 2013

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The Pittsburgh Steelers will not have a chance to head to the Super Bowl this year after finishing with an 8-8 record.

On Sunday, the Steelers defeated the Cleveland Browns 24-10 at Heinz Field.

On Monday, head coach Mike Tomlin addressed the media about how the season went and looked ahead to next year.

Tomlin said he was pleased with the defense getting four turnovers in Sunday’s win over the Browns, but that the win was not a pretty one.

He was happy that they ended the season on a winning note and avoided being swept by the Browns.

Tomlin also said the offense just didn’t play well in the second half of the season. However, he thought the defense improved during the second half, but that they did not make enough significant plays.

As for the younger players on the team, Tomlin was pleased with their performances and thinks the experience they gained will be a good thing as they prepare for next year.

We did have a couple of the younger guys step up on defense.(Allen, Heyward)Ta'amu was a disgrace. We need to go into next year with a solid O-line that can stay on the field.

offensive line

this group drives me crazy Adams, Gilbert, and DeCastro with another offseason and being healthy should bring some respect to the o-line.
