Steelers vs. Ratbirds (Week 7)

We've got one in the 'W' column, and we've got the ratbirds this week.

Great time to get that 2nd W.  I'm sure ratbirds and their fans are licking their chops this week.  Time to make them pay, and right this ship.

This would help close the gap in the division and give us a lot of confidence. We just gotta make Flacco look like FLAKEo

Time to put it together and show the world WE'RE BACK!

Obviously with an 0-4 start our season outlook is bleak, but with an unusually weak AFC North this year, a win on Sunday and we are back in the hunt. It's imperative that we take advantage of our divisional games to get those W's. This one more than most as it's our first against a stalwart opponent every year in the Ravens.

Lets have some hope to this season and GET THIS WIN.

We do need this one more than most.

Apparently being unable to name every Baltimore Ravens defender the way you have for most of your life is entirely forgivable, but you'd better know this: Whoever that is playing defense for John Harbaugh, they're bringing every last degree of the customary heat.

It's OK to have spent your Ravens week counting all the missing pieces from the eternal puzzle facing Ben Roethlisberger -- Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, Bernard Pollard, Paul Kruger, Dannell Ellerbe, Cary Williams, all gone from the familiar murder of crows -- but don't sleep on the extreme pressure they're still generating in violent waves.

"I think you don't see as much of the exotic stuff," Steelers tight end Heath Miller was saying about Baltimore's recent blitz tendencies. "They've got a lot of new faces and they're new down the middle, but they've been pretty basic. And the reason for that is because they're getting a lot of pressure without having to do anything special."

A lot of pressure from a lot of people.

The 2013 Ravens have more people with sacks (9) than the Steelers have, uh, sacks (7).

By far the most frightening new component is Elvis "Doom" Dumervil, formerly a terror of the Mile High environs. This particular iteration, Doom II: Hell on Earth, seems the perfect menace/complement to Terrell Suggs. Neither really needs an introduction.

I don't care who dons the purple flying rat colors, bottom line is it's everyone's job in the black and gold to hit em hard, hit em often, and WIN THIS GAME.

I don't know what happen the first 6 minutes, but the Steelers offense has the ball and is driving right now.

Miller with an uncharacteristic fumble

giving the ratbirds life! Defense needs to hold them to 3 or get a TO

good job by the front line getting to Flacco, and the coverage by the secondary holding the rats to 3.

2nd half, ratbirds get the ball, looking for the defense to step it up big time.

key 3rd down right here. Gotta stand tall defense. Stop giving up the 3rd down yards and get off the field.

Thanks to flaccid under throwing his WR, Gay was able to respond, and break up the TD pass. Now time for Ben and company to repay the defense with a sustaining drive ending with a TD.
