Isaac Redman, who began the season as the Steelers' starting halfback, was released today by the team.
The Steelers re-signed linebacker Kion Wilson from their practice squad. Wilson made the team at the start of the season but was released Oct. 9 to make room for linebacker Stevenson Sylvester, who was re-signed after being cut in the preseason.
Redman was the team's highest-paid running back. He was tendered a $1.3 million one-year contract as a restricted free agent.

| I think this is due to the way that Bell has been stepping up, Jones has filled in nicely, and Dwyer made the most of the carry he got. _________________ Twitter: @SteelersYak

Yep and the fact that he's basically a straight ahead runner. Hated losing the guy because he was good on short yardage, but when you're tailback is 246lbs and the team looks to have a stud FB, Redman's services were no longer a need. | |

| His departure came with suddeness, as he was told to glide out of Pittsburgh. His departure wasn't much of a surprise considering he hasn't been used lately. He got an opportunity but didn't take advantage of it. _________________ If you're going to be a smart ass, you'd better be smart. Otherwise, you're just an ass. | |

| Fumble machine indeed. Should have got rid of him at the start of the season and NOT Dwyer! Thank goodness we got him back! Personally, I like Dwyer, Bell, and Jones. | |

| They should have cut him pre-season before they cut Dwyer. _________________ 60 MIN 53 MEN 1 NATION STEELERS NATION I am the MAN that created the MYTH that started the LEGEND Don't choose good when greatness is available! | |

| He's a local boy to me going to Bowie State, but he just didn't capitalize on his opportunity and the org saw it. _________________ Win, Lose, or Tie, I'm a Steeler fan until I DIE!!! | |
