Yeah they said it cost him $100,000.

Got to be more than that, a stock rolls royce is probably double or triple that cost.

Pretty sure the custom paint job alone was 100k.

$500,000.00

I missed the mark on that one. 100K would be a steal.

Jim Miller and pat kirwan like what they've seen from shamarko and Mitchell so far. We're impressed with how Jarvis looked dropping into coverage.

AB throws 50 yard passed like its nothing.

Ben is amazingly accurate in practice. Only 1 ball hit the ground in drills. Jim Miller had no idea. Says m. Wheaton will be the unsung hero of wr's. High praise for Richard Mann. He really likes Wheaton.

no prob.

Everyone should hear Arthur moats give an interview. One of the best on the team.

Art II is fantastic. Backed the commish, but didn't exactly give the most ringing endorsement. Training Camp - Page 2 1797695198

Easy to understand why Tomlin was extended. He is so grounded and in control. Said really good things about Josh Harris. We are set at RB.

RARE TO HEAR FROM TODD HALEY BUT HE TALKS NOTHING BUT FOOTBALL AND XS & OS.

oops accidental caps...

Keith Butler first mentioned Chikillo when asked about under the radar back up players having a good camp.

He then went on to say Spence, Williams, Garvin , mccullers.

Will be a " swarming" defense.

When not on the field, Chikillo is glued to Joey porters hip asking questions and taking instruction. "Student of the game"

They don't wanna say "midseason form" but Ben and the no huddle offense Looks it. Bryant catches everything this camp. Ben says Wheaton will have a huge year. Hes catching everything. Then Antonio Brown. Add Bell in the backfield and are nearly unstoppable.

Ben likes all the young receivers unlikely to make the team. Eli Rogers has been mentioned but needs work with brown on the juggs.

Wow... Deangello Williams.

Why couldn't we have had you last year???

Hes only here to win a Superbowl. Hes innit for the long haul, not just to replace Bell for 2 games. Total dependable team player is in it for the long haul and already emerging as one of the veteran leaders.

Only offensive player who works out with the defense after practice running persuit drills.

Chickillo was Defensive MVP of the Under Armour all star game as a highschool Senior. Chickillo was the Devensive MVP of the East-West Shrine game this year at approx. 272 lbs.

The kid is no fluke, he's been a performer for years and has a high motor and nose for the football. He's a football junkie and I still predict he will make the 53 and be a contributor here for several years.

Kirwan has done the Friday night practice the last 8-9 years. This is the most and hardest hitting one he has ever seen. Most time with the starters as well. "Hit a home run" with martavus.

We have every reason to be excited steeler fans!

it would be great to see him explode in preseason games. BI hope he stays healthy and makes the team.

Oh and if any bloggers are still wanting to speculate about Mike Adams, Kevin Colbert all but guaranteed that he will be back and will be good, and is an integral part of the OL depth. Cody Wallace sounds solid as well.

Watching online practices on NFL Network right now. Alejandro Villanova is an absolute monster compared to the rest of the other linemen. Mike Mayock and tunch ilkin are hosting the live practices it's awesome.

Steelers Notebook: Pouncey Back To Work

Aug 03, 2015
Jim Wexell
Publisher SteelCityInsider.net

Training Camp - Page 2 1562183

Maurkice Pouncey is back, but Senquez Golson may miss the year. Those reports and practice highlights to go.

LATROBE -- Can a center actually add swagger to a football team?

"If it's Maurkice Pouncey, certainly," said Mike Tomlin.

Pouncey was activated off the Physically Unable to Perform list yesterday and participated in his first practice with the Pittsburgh Steelers this training camp. The four-time Pro Bowl center was on the PUP list with a right foot sprain, but came back Monday and performed in half of the team scrimmages.

Not that he was much of a factor his first day out, but the offense no doubt appreciated his return.

"Besides the fact that he's a really good player," Tomlin said, "he's a good leader, he's a good communicator, and that's a significant component of that position, to create clarity just prior to the snap with what he's able to do above the neck. And obviously his skills after the snap are what they are."

The ripple effect had Cody Wallace moving back to second-team center between rookie guards Miles Dieffenbach and B.J. Finney.

Ramon Foster was also missing from the first-team line and Chris Hubbard moved in to replace him.

GOLSON MAY MISS SEASON

It might end before it ever begins for second-round draft pick Senquez Golson.

On the PUP list with a shoulder injury, Golson will see a doctor "in about a week" before deciding whether to undergo season-ending surgery.

Golson said he first noticed the problem late in spring drills. "I just remember after practice it feeling kind of loose," he said.

As for the immediate future, "We haven't really decided nothin' as far as how we want to deal with my shoulder," he said Monday. "But I'll do whatever I've got to do to get on the field. If it takes surgery, we'll have to do surgery. If not, then strap it up and get ready to go in."

Has there been a silver lining?

"Definitely," he said. "At this point I've learned basically the whole playbook, so it definitely has its advantages, being on the outside looking in. I get a lot of time to learn the game."

PRACTICE HIGHLIGHTS

* The defense was on its game in the two-point conversion drill. Rookie TE Jesse James caught the only successful conversion pass. Rookie safety Gerod Holliman broke up the seventh and final attempt.

* Rookie Shakim Phillips seems to make a quality play every day. The 6-3 WR cut sharply to get open against rookie safety Isaiah Lewis and then cut sharply to score.

* Lewis, No. 37, came back with an interception on the next play as Lewis' position coach, Carnell Lake, looked on approvingly. A fan yelled to Lewis, "You look like Carnell Lake out there!" And old No. 37 himself smiled widely.

* In the run-heavy first scrimmage, QB Landry Jones faked a handoff and threw to Heath Miller running free down the middle of the field. Miller gained approximately 50 yards on the play.

* Rookie RB Jawon Chisholm cut around the end for a 15-yard gain thanks to blocks from rookie guards Finney and Dieffenbach.

* ILB Terence Garvin rocked rookie RB Cameron Stingily in the hole and caused a fumble.

* OLB Arthur Moats submarined Chisholm and the severity and suddenness of the hit shocked onlookers. But Chisholm got up and walked it off.

* Cortez Allen is no doubt getting better working against Antonio Brown every practice. Allen ran deep with Brown to break up one pass, but Brown got even in red-zone work by cutting out and back sharply to give the QB a slight window at the pylon, and Brown got his feet down for the score. "No! No! No!" shouted Allen.

* Working with the third team, new CB Brandon Boykin broke up what looked to be a touchdown pass to Sammie Coates at the goal line.

MEDICAL REPORT

It was the sixth consecutive practice in pads for the Steelers so there were many players out of action Monday: Matt Spaeth, Ben Roethlisberger, DeAngelo Williams, Josh Harris, Martavis Bryant, Markus Wheaton, Shamarko Thomas, Ross Ventrone, Mike Mitchell, James Harrison, Daniel McCullers ("minor hamstring") and Foster.

I watched that too. I want to see him in some game action. In the practice sets, he looks to not bend his knees enough and get low. He dwarfed Beachum, but if he is a waist bender in his pass sets and not as much knee, that might be an issue.

Any word on Isiah Lewis? He's my dark horse to make the 53 at the Safety position and I saw he was injured a day ago.

he dwarfed everyone on the field! I think he would dwarf The Undertaker. One hell of a physical specimen that's for sure.
