A day after Peyton Manning was benched in favor of Brock Osweiler, it's becoming clear that the Denver Broncos quarterback may be sitting down for far longer than anyone expected.

Personally I think his career is over.

Reminds me of the last few years of Favre when the wheels would fall off in the second half of the season.

Peyton was injured yesterday but with the exception of the Green Bay game his play has been sketchy all year, which was a continuation of his problems the last few months of last season.
I admit to getting tired of seeing Peyton hum the Nationwide song and shill for Papa John's. But he has been pretty much a class act and it is too bad he has not quit.
Few players get to leave in the manner of John Elway and Jerome Bettis, which requires extremely good fortune. Imagine if the last memory of The Bus would have been the Colts running back his goal line fumble for a TD.

It is sad. Peyton's a living legend and one I have the utter most respect for as an opponent. the league won't be the same without him.

Archie Manning leaned back in his chair and muttered: "I hate football."
At just about any other moment, he feels anything but that. Manning and his wife often marvel at the good fortune achieved by their quarterback-playing sons.
On this particular Sunday evening, though, their father was just one more football fan bemoaning how cruel this sport can be -- not to mention the absurdity of the league's rules on what constitutes a catch. Twice he had celebrated what appeared to be yet another stirring comeback by Eli against the undefeated Patriots*, only to stare dumbfounded at the words "incomplete pass."

This columnist throwing shade Peyton's way
It appears inevitable Manning will retire after the season — and he should — ending the career of the greatest regular season player in NFL history. ...
Of course, it’s easy to second-guess why he even played this year after a lingering leg injury last December led to the ninth one-and-done playoff game of his career, the most ever for a quarterback.

He might as well. Osweiler, played pretty good today. He could end up having a good career, he studied behind Manning and it showed today 20-27 is pretty impressive 2td no INT. He looked good out there.

On NBC they just said Peyton plans on playing next season even if it's not for the Bronco's.

Straight from the horse's mouth:
(Disclaimer: This isn't true, I just wanted to call Elway a horseface)

That would taste horrible.
I have a signed Brett Favre rookie card from when he was with the Falcons.

I have an autographed Tony Stewart Home Depot hat, a autographed Brad Banks Iowa Barnstormers Jersey, and an autographed Ryan Clark Steelers jersey. I also have an autographed Shonn Greene drawing from when he was with the Hawkeyes and it's all framed. I don't have a ton of collectibles, I never much got into collecting things. I have a lot of apparel and what not, but not a lot of collectibles.

If Osweiler bites the dust rumour is Peyton will be back against the Steelers December 20th.
