Exactly.
As the video FA posted points out ... as fans, sometimes we like to think we know more than we do. Almost all average Joe fans are guilty of that.

Thanks for your time Greg.I'm sure there was a couple but I can't remember a bad snap from him. Hope you enjoy retirement in good health. As Paul Harvey used to say "and now we know the rest of the story!"
Hats off to Colbert and Tomlin for not throwing him under the bus when they were questioned about "wasting" a pick on Colin Holba.

i figured it was a money thing. warren made $985,000 last year and i'm sure it would have been 7 figures under a new contract. where as holba will make $498,000 this year. a half a mill a year savings for a guy that gets on the field just a few times a game ...

He had a good run, was a real solid pro. You never notice that you have a good long snapper, until you don't.
They knew somebody would take Hoba in the 7th, so instead took him in the late 6th round. Solid move.

I think it was more based on ability than a money thing. Warren got cut for failing a physical, meaning he probably wouldn't be able to get on the field very much longer, if at all.
LS isn't a flashy job, but I remember a game vs the giants where our long snapper going down was a direct cause of losing that game.

The moment that pick was made, Greg posted up in a Golden Coral and didn't leave.
