As for Ben not being there, he's married, and was most likely finishing off some tasks on his honey-do list. As for Hines not mentioning him, it's his retirement party!
And yes I like to blame the media and/or politicians.
So it's the media's fault for blowing this Hines not mentioning Ben drama out of the water, and it's Obama's fault for Hines retiring and not being re-signed by the Steelers! Is it really a big deal? No not really. But I think it's worthy of being mentioned. Hines went out of his way to mention Stewart and Maddox, but not once did he mention Ben, with whom he won two Super Bowls. Just imagine Joe Montana retiring and mentioning John Taylor but not saying anything about Jerry Rice. Or imagine Belichick retiring and mentioning Drew Bledsoe but not Tom Brady. You don't think that would be worthy of mentioning? We know that Hines and Ben had a rocky relationship, but I thought all that was put to rest after Hines supported him after the last rape allegation. Remember, Ben promised to be a better leader and a better teammate. But what if, and I'm saying IF, he really hasn't changed? That could be a reason for Ward not to respect him and not even mention him while going out of his way to mention Stewart and Maddox. The only reason I think it was worthy of being mentioned by Bouchette and why we're having this discussion is because there's a tiny little part in the back of my mind that fears having to have a discussion in a year or two about Ben's third rape allegation or some other off-field nonsense. Truck, you know I'm not a Ben hater, but because of many of his stupid decisions, I don't think he's earned the right to ever get the benefit of the doubt. I'd be willing to bet that it's much ado about nothing, but when Hines didn't even mention the QB with whom he won two Super Bowls, it made me raise my eyebrows a little. And it's the offseason ... there's not much else to talk about. _________________ If you're going to be a smart ass, you'd better be smart. Otherwise, you're just an ass.

| I didn't see his entire press conference.
Did he mention any other current active Steelers player? _________________ 60 MIN 53 MEN 1 NATION STEELERS NATION I am the MAN that created the MYTH that started the LEGEND Don't choose good when greatness is available!

Did he mention any other current active Steelers player? Yoi, I can't remember who he mentioned and who he didn't. It wasn't something I made a mental note to pay attention to. I know he mentioned Wallace, and quite possibly Brown, but I think that was only when he was asked a question by a reporter. I know he mentioned a number of guys on defense. But I'm probably just reading too much into it as I like to do from time to time. _________________ If you're going to be a smart ass, you'd better be smart. Otherwise, you're just an ass.
