What are your thoughts on Mike Wallace returning to the team?
It’s great. We’ll be excited when he gets here. I talked to him today. He’s excited and we’re excited.
How much time will it take Wallace to get acclimated to the new offense?
I don’t know. It depends on how much he’s been doing while he’s been away.
Re: Wallace studying the playbook on his own:
He’s been working out and working, not just on his conditioning and his strength, but working on the offense.
How difficult is it to learn the offense without other players around you?
I guess it could be a little bit of a challenge. But if he’s putting the work in that I think and he’s telling me he’s doing, I think he’ll be fine.
Was the offseason difficult with Wallace being gone and the injuries to the running backs?
It’s a new offense so it’s going to be different. I’ve been doing this long enough and, “It is what it is,” as Coach Tomlin would say.
Did Wallace tell you he wants to play in the final preseason game?
We didn’t talk about the preseason game. We just talked about him being here and getting ready for practice.
