Mendenhall, Pouncey questionable, Gilbert, Polamalu ruled out for Steelers
Quote :
The Pittsburgh Steelers suffered a string of injuries in their week 6 loss to the Tennessee Titans, just as they had finally gotten healthy, and now there are concerns over whether they will be able to dress seven offensive linemen. Yet the roster moves made today did not reflect the reality of the injury report.
The team’s All-Pro center, Maurkice Pouncey, suffered an MCL injury on the first offensive snap of the game and did not return. It is not clear how severe the injury was, but head coach Mike Tomlin did not rule him out for Sunday night’s contest against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Others are less optimistic and expect him to miss the game, if not a couple weeks. Should he not be able to go, the Steelers would almost assuredly be forced to make a roster move.
They currently have only 6 healthy linemen on the roster, including rookie 7th round pick Kelvin Beachum, after right tackle Marcus Gilbert also sustained an injury to a tendon in his ankle. Gilbert was deemed “week-to-week” by Tomlin. He will be replaced in the starting lineup by rookie 2nd rounder Mike Adams.
In other news, rookie nose tackle Alameda Ta’amu has been suspended by the team for 2 games following his DUI arrest over the weekend that involved over a dozen charges. The team received a roster exemption while he serves his suspension

I would just love to see a healthy Steeler team before years end.
