| So we had our home inspection today and the inspector found the pipes to an old oil tank that used to fuel the original furnace. Since the filling pipes were still showing, he assumed that the tank was still down there and would probably need to be dug out, according to EPA rules. After our agent got in touch with the seller's agent, the seller remembered that the tank actually had been inside of the basement, not underground, and was removed when they switched to a gas furnace. That saves us several thousands of dollars in excavations.
