By Chris Bradford

After a long nine months, TE Heath Miller can finally see the proverbial light at the end of the tunnel. The Steelers’ leading receiver was activated from the PUP list on Saturday, clearing him to return to practice.

Though he didn’t do that on Monday, Miller reported that he was feeling fine and that an update on his status should come this week. Perhaps the only good thing to having surgery to repair his torn ACL, MCL and PCL, was in the timing. Injured in Week 16 last season against Cincinnati, Miller has only missed one game to date.

“I’ve had to miss the preseason, which is never fun when you’re not out there,” he said. “I know I’m closer to the end than I am the beginning and that’s a good thing.”

#Steelers TE Heath Miller looking very, very good in practice. He's close. My prediction still is Week 4 vs. Minnesota in London

Miller “feels pretty good” after practice

Posted by Teresa Varley

As promised tight end Heath Miller was a full participant in practice on Wednesday, but his status for Sunday night’s game against the Chicago Bears has yet to be determined.

“We’ll see,” said Miller. “We’ll see how it feels in the morning and try to keep pushing it through the week and see how it holds up. It feels pretty good right now. I think today was a good day. We’ll see how it feels tomorrow.”

Miller practiced in a limited role last week, but Wednesday was the first time he went full tilt in practice.

“We’ll see how it responds,” said Miller. “After a couple of days in a row we’ll see where we are at. I am encouraged by the way I felt today. We’ll just see how the knee reacts. Hopefully it will hold up and we will have a positive week.”

It's MILLER TIME!!!!

Maybe his return will help Ben.

But then again, I don't think Miller can't help Ben correct his errant throws.

I sure hope he is coming back.

On my fantasy football app... he is listed as "probable"

Miller reports no discomfort after second full practice

By Ralph N. Paulk

Tight end Heath Miller (knee) practiced without restrictions Thursday. Miller appeared optimistic about playing Sunday night against Chicago at Heinz Field.

Miller, wearing a brace on his reconstructed right knee, said he didn't experience any significant discomfort during his second full day of practice.

“To make progress, you have to add a little more to see how you respond whether positively or negatively,” Miller said. “I guess that will let you know if you're ready to take the next step. Obviously, today was a heavy day. So, we'll see how it feels (Friday) and go from there.”

Corneback Cortez Allen (ankle) sat out practice, and linebacker Jarvis Jones (heel) was limited. Defensive end Brett Keisel (calf) returned to practice after sitting out Wednesday. Cornerback Curtis Brown (illness) and defensive tackle Steve McLendon (hamstring) practiced despite minor injuries.

There's a part of me that wishes the coaches and doctors would hold him out until after the BYE week, but the other side of me says get your arse back on the field this weekend.

I hope he comes back in a complete way. Meaning, I hope he doesn't let his past injury play into his mind and cause him to play the game in a different way.

Yep, I feel the same way.

I can't imagine Heath doing that. He's from the same mold as Troy and Hines ... he knows only one way to play. Which ties in with what Truck said ... I hope he's 100 percent and not coming back too soon.

Miller likely to return

By Ray Fittipaldo / Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

Barring any setbacks, Steelers tight end Heath Miller will play his first game of the season Sunday night against the Bears.

Miller went through another full practice Friday and is officially listed as probable. Miller was noncommittal about his playing status after practice, but a source said Miller might not only be in line to play but also could be in the starting lineup.

"I'm excited," Miller said. "It's been a long time sitting and watching. I'm close to the end now. It's kind of the hardest part, I guess, figuring out when you're ready to go. I'm getting close and I know it's sooner rather than later."

Who cares. Put a cape or a target on this guy because Ben is going to him early and often.
