Bell Suspended 3 games

I guess that they couldn't decide between 2 & 4 and split the difference. It sucks, but at least we know how many games now.

I actually would have been happier with 4 in a sick way - because at least then I could know it is a full-screw, instead of them trying not to look like they want to screw the Steelers, but not ok with just giving 2 games.

It shouldn't have been more than 2 for first time offense.

If Bell gets 3 games for smoking weed the NFL better suspend Brady and Hoody for the whole F-ing year

he should punch his girlfriend so his suspension gets decreased to 2 games

Normally I would be worried, but I think a fresh Williams is capable of carrying the load for that amount of time.

Who knows, it may be a blessing in disguise.A fresher Bell as the season winds down...

Big Ben doesn't get charged with a crime and sits 4.
Mike Tomlin gets fined $100k for being "interfering" with play (while other coaches run around the damn field freely.)

this may surprise some of you but i'm cool with the suspension. i dont give a damn who you are dont get behind the wheel if you are even just buzzed. he could have killed someone. i was one of the biggest potheads i know(damn i miss weed) and i didnt drive while stoned. its just not a smart choice

I don't think anyone disagrees with a suspension. He deserves it, but what I'm not cool with is why everytime a Steeler gets punished by Goodell, it's never consistent with the other punishments dished out to other players. 2 games, OK. 3? Did he do anything worse than michael vick or ray rice? I don't think so.

And while true the possibility exists that he could have killed someone, the fact is he didn't. If Ray Rice killed his fiance with that punch he'd be getting charged with murder or involuntary manslaughter on top of the assault charges. So the outcome of the crime sorta does matter a lot, imo.

i dont disagree with any of that. i just think he is an idiot for doing what he did and deserves whatever he gets. its nobodies fault but his. if he didnt drive while toking goodell would not have even factored in.

I think Williams will fill in good till bell gets back. i'm not too worried

I have confidence in Williams being able to carry the load while Bell is out for 3 games.

As brought up by many, the penalties don't seem to fit the crime for the Steelers. I think Goodell just throws darts at a board to determine how many games each infraction is worth.

He's appealing, so it could get reduced to just the 2 games anyway. Goodell just has to be a D I C K to the Steelers because he has a chance to.

James Harrison should be very worried right about now.

And I feel like every other player that appeals ends up getting it reduced. IF Bell's isn't reduced to 2 games.... I might go banana sandwich. How did Blount only get one game? Blount is a REAL loser.
