Yes we're the protected children of the NFL, I suppose that's why the following has occurred in recent years:
1. Roethlisberger suspended 6 games (later reduced to 4 games) for being accused, not charged of rape by a gold digger that took hush money, and refused to press charges because they knew damned well they had no case.
2. Le'veon Bell suspended for 3 games (later reduced to 2) for a first time offense involving marijuana.
3. James Harrison fined for existing.
4. Chris Boswell fined for a special teams tackle where he accidentally pulled off the ball carrier's helmet. It was a first time offense, and completely unintentional.
5. Brandon Boykin and William Gay fined for celebrating...
6. DeAngelo Williams and William Gay fined for supporting righteous causes during breast cancer awareness month, which unfairly gets all of the attention in light of many other causes that are ignored.
We've been fined and had players suspended just like any other team, but somehow we're the "protected child" of the NFL? This Broncos fan is delusional. For the record, I think Cody Wallace deserves a hit to the pocket book as well, and while I don't want to see him suspended for that late hit, if he was, I really couldn't make an argument against a one game suspension because the late hit was totally unnecessary. But to actually sit there and claim the Steelers are a protected child of the NFL, that's just stupid.
Of course I say this, and I should mention the hypocrisy of these guys calling us dirty when they have a player like TJ Ward on their team.
My other favorite comment:
"I'd rather get poked in the eye than have some lard ass take a twenty yard head start for a no look kill shot after the whistle.
If TJ Ward had done this...can you imagine?"
First, I'd love to see this clown call Cody Wallace a lard ass to his face. These guys are not fat, far from it. That's a pathetically stupid insult to make about an offensive lineman, or a defensive lineman for that matter.
Second, he mentions TJ Ward as if our players are untouchable and the NFL lets them get away with everything when the facts blatantly say otherwise. Nothing like talking out of your ass!
(Bronco fan mentality) Oh look at poor little TJ Ward here getting picked on by the NFL! He just blocked him in the back, and jumped on top of him and threw a forearm but it was all just a big misunderstanding! Let's complain about the Steelers being dirty, and the NFL giving them special treatment!

that's the way I see it too. These guys aren't saints, and if you let a team do it, they will try and push you around all game. Somebody has to step up and let them know that won't stand.

Yeah going back and watching it numerous times I see that Wallace was standing up for his guy, but he kind of just went in and blasted the Broncos player that wasn't even involved. At the end of the day it was a stupid penalty, that negated a positive play, and it shouldn't have happened. If you're going to get after a guy, at least get after the one that was roughing up your teammate, not the guy that was just standing there.
You can also have a nasty demeanor, without being a dirty player. Willie Colon got after guys (just ask Vonherp Derpfict), but he wasn't known as a dirty player, at least to the best of my knowledge. Wallace has done a couple of questionable things now, and if he doesn't knock it off, he's going to find himself suspended. Think before you act, and put your team ahead of yourself.

You know I've been watching it a few more times and then it reminded me of a certain Steelers player who ragdolled a certain Cowboys player for attempting to intimidate one of his teammates.
This quote by Mike Wagner says it all "I think the message sent was thunderous. Nobody is going to intimidate the Pittsburgh Steelers". I'm a little more on board with what Wallace did, perhaps flying in and blasting a guy was a tad bit overboard, but it sends the message that you're not going to mess with our guys and get away with it.
