| second to tyrod taylor????
The Pittsburgh Steelers were searching for an insurance policy for Le'Veon Bell entering the 2015 season. After watching their young All Pro running back injured in Week 17 of the 2014 season and having to turn to Ben Tate, Dri Archer and Josh Harris in the 2014 AFC Wild Card game vs. the Baltimore Ravens, the team realized they needed depth at running back.
They had attempted to add veteran depth to the backfield prior to the 2014 season when signing LeGarrette Blount, but after his release fans and teammates were left to watch Blount hoist a Lombardi Trophy with a Patriots*' jersey over his pads. This became the struggle for Pittsburgh. Trying to find a back up who was a team-first player, accepted his role as back up to Bell and would be capable of filling in if Bell was injured again. Oh, and also for the right price as the salary cap-strapped Steelers can't afford to sign big-name free agents.

| Williams has been nothing short of amazing. I just keep thinking to myself: what could we have done in the playoffs last year had we had Williams? _________________ Twitter: @SteelersYak

well, Tyrod Taylor has been named as a Pro Bowl alternate. probably because of the way he has led his team to a winning record and the playoffs this season. oh wait...

| Wouldn't it be great to see a Steelers-Panthers SB and have Williams take off on a 99 yard TD run to win the game.
A boy can dream can't he...

A boy can dream can't he... Its really not that unrealistic. I think its official... The Steelers are relevant again. If we keep blake on the bench I think we have a serious shot to get to Foxboro and play the Patriots* in the AFCCG. That could be a classic, this isnt the same team they played week one. This team has found its identity, we have 3 great WR and solid TE and a great RB in Williams. We may have to win in 45-39 shoot outs all the way to the SB but I could see it happening. I really wish we had bell for the run but Williams is almost as good. If we keep this offense together, and improve more on D, Ben could get his 5 rings. _________________

| The Bills may have found a franchise QB off the street. DeAngelo is awesome but that is absolutely more impressive as far as FA acquisitions go. | |

| Williams is the best. Everyone wrote him off. Too old. Lost a step. Not good anymore. All he's done is come in and produce in the toughest situations having to fill the huge hole left by Bell's injury. He absolutely deserves the recognition. Tyrod made good on his chance but I don't seem to recall bunches of people expecting him to fail either. _________________ "Success isn't owned, it's leased and the rent is due every day." - TJ Watt | |

| i would've said Taylor in a lock after the first 1/2 of the season, but not having followed the Bills much and seeing their record I have to say DW for the win. _________________ OW MY BALLS! | |

| Where are the Bills in the playoff picture? Hoping for some kind of a miracle. If you base it on that alone Deangelo is the best signing. | |

you can count me as one who wanted to see a different guy looked at. my choice was also met with criticism... darren mcfadden ... 4th leading rusher in the NFL this year. put up nearly identical stats as deangelo with the same amount of starts (10)...i wanted mcfadden because he is 4 years younger and came at a lower price tag. williams - 200 rushes... 907 yds ...4.5 avg...40 rec ... 367 yds ...4 /100+ yd games mcfadden -239 rushes...1089 yds...4.6 avg...40 rec....328 yds .....5/100+ yd games

| DeAngelo Williams is in a four-way tie for the most TD runs in the NFL this season. | |

| Tyrod Taylor played pretty well on Sunday in Buffalo. I'll give him the nod for leading them to a win last week. | |

DeAngelo Williams, at 33, has the most rushing TDs in the NFL since the start of the 2015 season. Steelers rolling.

| Wonder if they will consider re-signing him after the season? Still a long time from now. But he looks like he still has enough in the tank. _________________ Known as BLACK_AND_YELLOW from SF

A stat not being talked about: @DeAngeloRB had 9 rushing 1st downs, 3 more than the next closest RB in Week 1. Kept drives going, and going.

https://twitter.com/RyanScarpino/with_replies Thanks to the well paid O-line and a Redskins defense that was last against the run last year. Don't get me wrong, I really like Williams. But I'll get excited if he repeats that performance this weekend.

https://twitter.com/MarkKaboly_Trib?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor Not trying to nitpick but the way the o-line was playing, anyone would have rushed for 100. Some of those holes were big enough to fit a semi truck through, and there was some really good downfield blocking by the TE and WR's. It was a dominant performance in all phases in the running game.

Yeah, but remember the days of Legursky, Kemoeatu, Darnell Stapleton, drafting Tony Hills, etc. The entire right side of the line and Pouncey are all pro type linemen. The statmonkeys can grade the RB however they want, but outright fantastic to see some real talented O linemen on the team doing the real work.
