| Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict and the Steelers have gotten under one another’s skin this season.
Burfict’s celebration of a hit that injured Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell in the first meeting of the year between the teams drew the ire of the Steelers. Their reaction, including threats on social media, rankled the Bengals, leading to a pregame scrap between the teams last month and a low hit by Burfict on Ben Roethlisberger kept the temperature high after that game was over.
Based on Burfict’s response to questions about facing the Steelers to open the playoffs on Wednesday, it hasn’t gone down in the intervening weeks.
“I hate Pittsburgh,” Burfict said, via the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. “It’s not personal. That’s just the way it is.”

| Shocking. I never wish injury on any player, but that only goes for those who have enough respect for the game. Burfict does not. I wouldn't feel a drop of sympathy for him if he went down with an injury this game. It's just a shame Bell can't be out there to put the hit on him that does it ;) _________________ SF Member Since 2005

How is that NOT personal? That's the definition of personal feelings.

| Steelers, Bengals will have same officials from Week 14 matchupSaying that the NFL made a questionable choice with it's officiating decision for Saturday's Wild Card game between the Steelers and Bengals would be a vast understatement. John Parry's officiating crew, the same crew that failed to police the extra curricular activities that took place the last time these two teams played back in Week 14, will be presiding over Saturday night's rubber match between the Steelers and Bengals. So, just to make sure everyone understands, the officiating crew that finished fourth in the NFL in fewest called "behavior" penalties will get the call in a playoff game between arguably the two biggest rivals in the NFL. Common sense is on Line 1, Commissioner Goodell. If you remember that Week 14 game, one of more chippy games of the regular season, Parry's crew called just 11 penalties in that game, well below the league average for all games, according to ESPN. While little flags were thrown, the league office sent out several fines in the days following the game, one to the Steelers receiver Antonio Brown (unnecessary roughness), another to Pittsburgh guard David DeCastro (face mask), and three fines to Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict for three different plays that included his low hit on Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, a hit that was not issued a penalty by Parry's crew. The NFL is doing a disservice to both Bengals and Steelers fans. Instead of solely focusing on the actions, will fans now have to constantly be worried about late hits, cheap shots and missed calls on every single play? While its unrealistic to expect the league to organize its officiating assignments based on the history of each matchup, the NFL should have chosen a crew with a stronger track record with regard to discipline rather than the crew that was near the bottom in that category during the regulars season. Hopefully, Parry's crew will use last month's game between Pittsburgh and Cincinnati as a learning experience while knowing what to expect for the rubber match between these two teams. The first two games between Pittsburgh and Cincinnati were two of the roughest games of the season, and on Saturday, with both teams' seasons on the line, there's no reason to believe that this game won't follow suit. Here's hoping Parry's crew does a better job policing the action on Saturday, so that the players don't have to. http://pit.247sports.com/Bolt/Steelers-Bengals-will-have-same-officials-from-Week-14-matchup-42625213 | |

| He should say I hate Heinz field and the team. I'm pretty sure he's never been to Primanti Bros. I'd like to show him the Incline starting at the top and ending real fast at the bottom. | |

My brother is friends with a bunch of NE fans(I swear guys they're the new Cowboys when it comes to bandwagon fans among kids these days) Anyohw, they all have a profound hatred for the city of Pittsburgh, a city none of them have ever been to. I have to say as much as I hate the Pats* and Ravens, I actually rather like the cities of Boston and Baltimore. Cleveland even has a certain charm to it, okay I only said that since my great grandmother was born there but her father had the good sense to take the family to Pittsburgh when she was an infant.

I don't think this is accurate. From what I understand John Parry will be the Ref, but his crew for Saturday's game will be made up of officials that graded highly during the season ... and not the same crew Parry had during the last match-up. So Parry will be there with a different group of officials. But the overall point is taken that Parry's inaction led to a game with little control and the potential someone could have been injured.
