Jesse James Could Be The Steelers Secret Weapon This Season

Yup, he isn't the blocker that is sometimes needed and that is why David Johnson is on the team. James needs to improve his blocking for sure to be a long term Steeler TE.

Its why I hope Grimble somehow works out. He's got a thicker frame and can become a better blocker, plus he is more of a vertical threat than James. Still, there are a few good TE's in the upcoming draft and I expect the Steelers to look at TE and OLB early next spring.

So far, Jesse James has impressed me on the field. He's made good (not great catches) but has avoided making terrible plays.

At this point, with Grimble, DJ and a (hopefully) returning Nix, who cares if JJ blocks at all? Green was always expected to play out of the slot (something he did 60%+ in SD) so if you have a "Matt Spaeth" in these formations, does it really matter?

Ben hasn't been sacked much, and DW leads the league in rushing... JJ has played every snap in both games. So it's no big deal, right now, IMO

Hopefully he keeps getting better lots and lots of upside for the young man.
