WILD CARD: Game Day Thread - Steelers @ broncos

So we'll get this started a day early.

I'm anxious and nervous, even for today's games. I want the bungals to win, that way if we win, we go to Baltimore. It would please me nothing more than to eliminate the ratbirds from the playoffs.

But first things first. Take care of Tim Tebow and the denver broncos.

McGahee has been a solid runner over the years, and he's been known to bounce a few runs, taking up tons of yardage. The defense is going to have their hands full with McGahee and Tebow. But in order to alleviate some of that, our offense has to put up points early and often. Put the broncos in a 'catch up' mode, reducing McGahee's effectiveness (other than out of the back field - where I feel Worilds and/or Timmons can do a good job of containing him).

I hope Denver starts off on offense so we can set the tone on Defense. Jump out to a sizable first half lead and blow it wide open in the second half.

I'm more concerned with McGahee in the redzone. That guy almost always finds his way into the endzone. He's done it a bunch against us. Someone is gonna have to take Clarks place and knock him TFO. I don't mean that in a bad way. Just let him feel our presence.

Yeah I wanted them to win too. If they keep this core together, they'll be tough in the next few years. They might even replace the ratbirds as our competition in the division.

But now we know....WIN and we go to New England! I'm for it, knock the patriots* out of the playoffs and then either roll in to baltimoronville and make them regret the double gatorade shower or go in to Houston and exact a little revenge on the stairway to 7.

Jon, is there a part of you that's glad the Ravens don't have to face the Steelers next week? Or are you confident that the Ravens would beat them for the third time and you wanted the Steelers? Honest answer.

I'm glad that we don't have to play the Steelers next week. If we play them, I want it to be for the AFC Championship. This will also give the players an extra week to get over the Pittsburgh hangover.

I'm glad that we don't have to play the Steelers next week. If we play them, I want it to be for the AFC Championship. This will also give the players an extra week to get over the Pittsburgh hangover.

My freaking in laws decided that they were going to be in the area today and stop by for a visit....around 4ish.

Seriously? It's like they thought, 'Let's pick the worst time possible and call the day ahead and tell them!'

It'll be nice to see them of course, and Haley loves visiting with them...but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't hoping for a short visit.
