By Alan Robinson

As Ben Roethlisberger closes in on Terry Bradshaw’s team career passing record, he is trying to keep his head about him: Roethlisberger said some teams intentionally try to take out the opposing quarterback.

“I think it happens,” he said during a conference call with Tennessee reporters.

To him?

“A number of times,” he said.

He did not specify opponents but said the Eagles last weekend weren’t one of them. However, he said he saw Eagles players targeting center Maurkice Pouncey , saying, “Some of their guys jumped on Pouncey’s back and tried to spike him in the back. But I don’t think anyone intentionally tried to come after my head.”

Smart choice of words. The media has already tried to take words similar and twist them, so it's best he's very careful on the subject. He is right though, it isn't the first time someone's tried to send him to the bench.

One play in particular from a couple years back comes to mind. Remember the play where Ben's foot got injured and he had to wear that cast the rest of the year??? The guy who got to Ben had his feet up in the air so that all his weight was on Ben who was in a crouching position. It was blatantly obvious he was out to injure Ben, yet once again no flag no fine imagine that.
