Steelers vs. Giants - Pre-season Game 1

Ok, here we go.

First offensive drive, started off well then as usual came to an abrupt end with a sack and a blocked punt.
First defensive appearance, was excellent. Giants start on the Steelers 5 yard line and only get 3.

LaRod Stephens-Howling is looking good so far too.

I liked him when he was behind Emmitt Smith in Arizona. So far I like his burst, cuts, and speed.

Nice drive, but I wish they would have gone for it. It is pre-season so it really doesn't matter. It would have been nice to see if the line could move some people when they needed to

damn that was close....but as they say....live by the blitz, die by blitz

Willie Gay on coverage....urgh!

Did anyone else know we had a FB named Johnson on our team?

And I still have the same question....what ever happen to the coffin kick for punters?

Looks like Golden has the same problem as Ike....can't catch.

4th and 2, and they get it.

Like the call and Wheaton with a nice catch.

I'd like to see the drive for a TD. The offense has looked good between the 20s, but I think it would do them well to push it in to the endzone. Looks like NOT on this drive...

 

Suisham...is sweet.

Jones seems to have a nice nose for the ball, love watching his pursuit.

Just a few plays has made the difference for our defense. So far I think the 1st and 2nd unit is looking solid.

punt coverage! I want punt coverage like that. Duff just got nailed.

Damn Wheaton is fast!

Please GET RID of the damn bubble screen. Good God, please just burn the page that it's on.

The giants have been helped by Stoopid penalties by Worilds. I'm sure Tomlin will help the team define S T O O P I D as W O R I L D S! I like Worilds, but he's got to play controlled, not overly aggressive.

First half thoughts ...

Stephens-Howling looked really good.
Gradkowski looked sharp and in control of the offense.
I'm surprised Redman didn't see more action, especially with Bell not playing.
Other than taking out Sylvester on a punt, Wheaton looked good.
Worilds needs to get it together.
Vince Williams was flying all over the place. He stood out to me.

Other than that, it's the first half of the first preseason game. Can't expect too much.

One more thought ... I've already seen enough of the halfback screen. It hasn't worked yet. Maybe the 9th time is the charm.

Ben looks slim. Shockingly slim. Passes looked crisp.
LSH looked good at RB. Surprised Redman wasn't used more.
Wheaton looking good in his first action, Sanders doing well.
Vince Williams might just be a Spence clone. Seems to play similarly.

who woulda thunk it, Warren Sapp actually saying something that sounded grid iron intelligent.

Yep. Williams was flying all over the place. He looked impressive.
