I can't dispute that Scobee has really sucked ass since he put on a Steelers uniform in the field goal department. No doubt about it. However, there has been a noticeable improvement in our field position, and our defense since he came to town because of his strong leg on kickoffs. Opponents starting field position has really helped the defense by giving them long fields to defend.

I hope they bring in someone with a very strong leg that can also kick the ball out of the end zone. If they don't, it could hurt this defense when opposing offenses are starting drives with better field position.

I will personally buy a plane ticket to send Scobee back to Jacksonville if that's what's needed.

Who would have thought that Suisham's injury has a greater impact than Bell and Bryant's absence?
Let's hope that the next kicker will do better than Scobee and won't cost us games.

guess we wasted that 6th round draft choice for next year.

but hey, it's not like 6th round selections ever work out anyway...

Frankly I don't care what we wasted. There was no way we could keep him on the roster. He was on pace to blow eight games this year. If any game came down to seven points, or less, he was going to lose it for us.

Better to pay an undrafted rookie free agent minimum wage to suck.

Of course the idea is to score touchdowns. See, that way you don't need to rely on a Scobee.

Kicker that the Jaguars kept when they cut Scobee is just as clutch - Jags kicker missed a 50 yard kick that would have won the game at the end of regulation then missed a 48 yard FG that would have beaten the Colts in OT

there has been lots of easy nest checks that good kickers typically make this year. I think that moving the extra point back 33 yard line denies them those two yard chip shots for in-game practice and has gotten into their heads.

I think our new kicker will lose us at least two more games this year.

Kicker that the saints kept instead of garret Hartley doinks a 30 yarder at the end of regulation to beat the cowboys.

Luckily drew brees bails him out in overtime.

Chargers miss an easy one to beat the Browns at the end of regulation and are bailed out with a penalty and a rekick.

Meanwhile some unknown dude who replaced Ryan suck up for the Chiefs hit 7 out of 7 in a loss. Fire Scobee, now! - Page 3 294855916

The Great Kicker Panic of Week Four has claimed its next victim.

According to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times, the Buccaneers have decided to cut beleaguered Kyle Brindza, despite previous shows of support.

Of course, Brindza didn’t really give them any choice, after he missed five of his last seven field goal attempts, and a pair of extra points.

Report: Josh Scobee suffered quad strain before his release from Steelers

By Jeff.Hartman on Oct 5, 2015

Fire Scobee, now! - Page 3 Usa-today-8779209.0

A day after the Pittsburgh Steelers released kicker Josh Scobee, a CBS Sports report suggested Scobee was kicking with an injured quadriceps muscle.

Call it a desperate attempt to continue his career in the NFL, or simply stating the truth, but a recent report from CBS Sports' Jason La Confora suggest Josh Scobee was playing injured while with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Steelers released Scobee over the weekend, and signed the inexperienced Chris Boswell to fill their vacancy at placekicker, and, per the report, Scobee will have to wait a few weeks before other suitors can potentially sign him to their active roster.

The teams who were interested weren't listed, but one would think a team would have to be in dire straits to want to sign a kicker who has already missed 4 field goals and an extra point through 4 games in 2015. To add to Scobee's less than stellar kicking statistics, he failed to make a kick from 40-49 yards during his short stint with the Steelers.

Scobee declaring an injury after his release isn't out of the norm. As stated before, he is trying to keep his options open to kick again in the NFL this season; however, Steelers fans shouldn't buy the injury as a reason for his release...

If he was injured than he shouldn't have been kicking period. He barely made his first kick, his second kick he had tipped and it just barely squeaked in, his last two were wide left. That was almost an 0-4 day. It wouldnt surprise me if he did have an injury that was limiting him. Then again maybe he is just washed up and should retire before he makes millions of fans want to kill them selves again.
