| Hopefully Mettenberger will get a chance in place of Landry. _________________ "Right now I'm having amnesia and déjà vu at the same time. I think I've forgotten this before." ~ Steven Wright

| It seem the surgery is a minor one and there's a chance that he will be back in time against the Ravens. That means he is going to miss only one game thanks to the bye week. | |

| This team is so incredibly STUPID for not drafting Ben's replacement. Someone to learn under him. Knew they were screwed if they lost him. Now look. I simply cannot ever be certain about this team and that's awful.
Team with the most superbowls and a history of successful seasons isnt smart enough to draft a REAL backup QB.
Or keep anyone healthy. Or pull a NE and excel with a backup.
Coaches including Tomlin need to look at themselves and seriously question what in the hell they are doing wrong because this happens every god damn year without fail, and as a fan it is infuriating. _________________ Stuck in a SE Ohio Tech. school with a bunch of high schoolers.

| Anyone who keeps talking about how our season is over needs to remember that football is a team sport. Yes, it sucks that Ben will be out for at least 4 weeks, but this isn't the first time this happened. Wasn't this the same exact injury he suffered last year? I know our Steelers have the potential to beat at least Baltimore and Cleveland without Ben. If Pittsburgh can go 2-2 in the next four games, we will still be in decent shape.
Hopefully, Heyward and Shazier will be back next week, because we are a totally different defense without those two. _________________

| Not getting my hopes up, I've defended this team many times. Getting tired of watching them play some of the worst teams in the NFL and struggling horribly against them. Great teams take out the trash, they don't roll around in it.
Feel bad for Ben, this really hurts this team and I'm pretty well expecting to get our asses kicked next Sunday. _________________ "Success isn't owned, it's leased and the rent is due every day." - TJ Watt

Feel bad for Ben, this really hurts this team and I'm pretty well expecting to get our asses kicked next Sunday. I feel the same way. This has been a pattern under Tomlin and I can't deny that. I think he is a very good coach, but he needs to prove that he can have his players ready for these type of games. Until then, I can't put him up there with the best coaches throughout history. I remember Bill Cowher being criticized by Steelers' fans for similar issues. Nobody likes to lose and when it happens everyone starts freaking out. I hear some folks saying they want Tomlin fired. All I can say to that is "Be careful what you wish for!" You see what happens to these teams who keep jumping coach to coach every couple of years. I also expect to probably lose next week, but like they say, "Any given Sunday..." You never know, especially if we get our starting defense back. _________________

| If its not a bad tear then a little removal of the loose flap of meniscus arthroscopically will not have Ben out very long. Still going to be in a position to win the AFC North. Relax folks. | |

Thank you El-Gonzo! Until Ben comes back, I am going to stay optimistic and say Pittsburgh will still win games. Let's not forget all the weapons on offense. What ever happened to the Counter Run where DeCastro pulls to the left? That play has killed other team's run defenses in the past and I haven't seen that play called in a long time. Its time to start running Bell and Williams more, so Landry Jones will have play action opportunities. _________________

| Another season of scoreboard watching, hoping that other teams will help us out to get into the playoffs. We've had a HoF Qb and likely HoF WR and will probably never put together a dominating 13-3 or better season. Looks like we're headed for a repeat of last years..get a player back but lose 1-3 others. _________________ Previously known as: Steel_Bus_24 Member of Steelers Fever forums since 06

Here I was hoping for a 6-1 or even 5-2 going into the bye week, now its looking like were going to have to settle for 4-3, disappointing to say the least. Just gotta hope the rest of the division keeps shitting the bed thats all

..but NE next week and Landry Jones?? there goes homefield at the very least With Heyward being out and Shazier not being 100%, the chance of stopping Brady is small anyway. Even if Ben is playing, it's a 50/50 game only. I also would not think about homefield this early. Let's win the division first. It's not a guarantee even if Ben is healthy.

| Hopefully Ben is back in a few weeks. Doesn't sound bad, but the steelers have another issue that's been a reacurring theme, losing to bad teams on the road. 10 out of 16 are losses to sub 500 teams in the Tomlin era if I got that right. That sounds like a discipline problem not an injury one. This is costing us home field in the playoffs - if we even get in. I don't know what the solution is, it's just the culture this team has. Hopefully we get healthy and can override this discipline issue enough. | |

| ESPN reports the surgery is more of a cleanup so not season ending or apparently as serious as the injury in week three against the Rams last season
Another frustration for a frustrating team - because of the Bell and Bryant off-season suspensions or maybe because I am getting used to this sort of crap every season I am to the point if the Steelers get their shit together great - if not life goes on
Maybe Ben can go on his radio show this week and blame Tomlin for the injury because Ben has to drop back and roll out too often in practice

| The good news is Ben apparently won't miss the rest of the season. The bad news is we have Jones at QB. With him you never know what you'll get. The career backup or the one who shouldn't even be in the league. Hindsight is 20/20 but I'll say it anyway. Wish we would have drafted Prescott ( 4th round). It seems we can pick pro bowl WRs out of thin air but can only find a legitimate (HOFer in Ben's case) QB once every 30 years or so. Right now even if the Patriots* don't cheat we'll have a hard time stopping them or putting up points against them. This is a home game where we should punish Blount for being a douche bag but after yesterday seeing a no name average 8.2 against us I'm pretty sure Blount will rub salt in our wounds. Now at least Tomlin can look past the Patriots* to the bye week. | |

| The football gods are not shining down on us this year yet again.
They have released the injury bug on us for another season of what could have been. _________________ 60 MIN 53 MEN 1 NATION STEELERS NATION I am the MAN that created the MYTH that started the LEGEND Don't choose good when greatness is available!

| My heart absolutely sunk when I read the news today. It sounds like if everything goes well, he can be back pretty quickly. I guess Rivers had something similiar and was back a week or two after. _________________ Twitter: @SteelersYak
