| This is a couple of days old, but I don't see it mentioned ... ----------------------------- PPG Paints Arena was home to a big night for the Pittsburgh Penguins and their fans Thursday, when the defending NHL champions whipped the Nashville Predators 6-0 in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final. I think it's a funny story and illustrates how the players are fans as well. And as fans, sometimes we can be a bit ... fanatical. You don’t have to live there to know this, and many of you reading this article are nothing more than Pittsburgh Steelers fans. And that is okay. We all have our allegiances to professional sports teams, but for those of us, myself included, who bleed black and gold with the Steelers, Penguins and Pirates, we know just how crazy a sports town Pittsburgh can be. What might be the biggest surprise is how the professional athletes in town support one another. It can be little things like the Pirates wearing their Penguins jerseys on a road trip as the Pens try to claim another Stanley Cup, Andrew McCutchen and Clint Hurdle after their 90+ win season doing the Terrible Towel twirl at Heinz Field, or the ridiculous number of athletes who go to watch the other athletes in the Steel City regularly.
