Strange pick. We have holes to fill at CB, DL and WR. We were set at OL.

I really thought that last pick would be CB,WR or Dline.

Nope, they're going to keep drafting linemen until we all stop complaining about the line.

Damn happy with this draft. Could have maybe went DLine with that Guard pick but they must have seen something in that kid and felt they could address D-Line another way.

I really like what Khan and Tomlin have put together as a team this off-season. Now lets hope it leads to come playoff wins.

Don't forget Andy Weidl. He was the guy in the Eagles organisation who put together the OL that made them a SB champion. It's no coincidence that we're trying to do the same now. That being said Khan and Tomlin have a big influence too. I know that we all have some serious questions about Tomlin and deservedly so, but when it comes to the draft I really believe Tomlin is top notch. Colbert was by far the main culprit for our poor drafts the last decade. I remember draft analysts saying that Colbert's retirement was the best thing that could happen for the Steelers as his draft evaluations were so poor and that he and Tomlin were in disagreement often. For example Tomlin wanted to go OL while Colbert drafted Najee. Even now Colbert is still defending that pick making it clear it was his decision.

Got to give credit all across the board. An announcer on the NFL show just said "Steelers are going to be a problem" this year.
Tomlin is all over the place - and I mean that in a good way. He was a major leader at the Senior Bowl - really took the reins. Many people came away very impressed.
Khan has been such a huge step up from Colbert. Again - the team - Weidle, Khan, Tomlin (assuming Rooney is not really involved in the draft process), have really put together something special to look forward to.

the guard pick may seem odd now, but it might make sense next year when daniels and herbigs contracts expire in march . one of my pet peeves in the past was the way they wait till the last minute to look for replacements. i dont know shit about McCormick, i was just surprised because NFL.com had about 6 other guards still on the board graded higher than him. of course there is things like scheme fit that need to be considered.

This draft is about as good as we could ask for!
Sorry fellas I was at a wedding all day but was lurking and keeping track of our picks.
Love the Logan Lee pick. He adds some weight and hits the weight room hard and he could become a contributor. Kid just has Steelers written all over him. Tough, gritty, high motor player, and he grew up a lifelong fan of the team. You want a tough, hard nosed, high effort guy. You got one.

WTF man ? no excuse ? we needed your evaluation hours ago ...
the steelers Dline coach said in his interview that Lee was 295 lbs.

Hmm, he must already be bulking up. Maybe I'm wrong but I thought he was 285 at Iowa.

Yeah he was pretty light at the combine so he must already be working hard at adding weight if he already got up to 295.

ok fellas. we are all over opinionated bastards here. so what pick(s), would you have liked to seen a different player that was still on the board after the pick was made ?
you can go to NFL.COM and use the draft tracker to see who was still on the board.
for me it was round 4. i had absolutely zero problem taking a guard. i;m a proactive kinda dude. i like to head potential problems off before they become problems. i fix shit that aint broken.....yet after this season both herbig and daniels are free agents. i'm not in favor of giving either a new contract especially one that pays them more money. i think both are being overpaid as it is. drafting a guard for insurance was a good idea. BUT...in my worthless opinion, they drafted the wrong guard. daniels obviously can play center, and herbig allegedly can play center. he has logged a career grand total of 47 NFL snaps at center for the eagles. my guess is if the center ever went down, daniels moves to center and herbig plays right guard.
the new guy...has never played center and all of his college snaps have been at LG. he had a nice showing at the combine in drills, although he skipped the bench press. something to hide ?
anyway the chiefs snagged the guy i would have taken in the 5th rd, for the same reason. to be the swing interior linemen, that guy was penn states CENTER hunter nourad.
2019 (Cornell): Second-team All-Ivy League. Started all 10 games at RT. 2020 (Cornell): School did not play due to COVID-19 concerns. 2021 (Cornell): First-team All-Ivy League. Started all 10 games at RT. 2022: Honorable Mention All-Big Ten Conference. Started 8 of 11 games played at LG. 2023: Second-team All-Big Ten Conference. Started all 13 games at C. dude has gotten recognition at 3 different positions. how does he not scratch tomlins flexibility itch ?
NFL.COM had a grade on him off 6.19 their grade for South Dakota state ? McCormick was 5.86
