I think Atlanta will take him to replace Matt Ryan I'd like the Steelers take OT B.P.A.

one of these guys will be available if we pick in the top 15.
Tyler Linderbaum C Charles Cross OT Ikem Ekwonu OT/G Kenyon Green OG
I think centers and guards have an easier time transitioning to the NFL than tackles. linderbaum and green are safe bets. i think one of those 2 would be the better pick as far as playing well right away. Some think Ekwono will be a guard in the NFL, while others think he will be fine at tackle.
if by chance they are all gone then LB devin llyod. but i did read that the steelers , not sure if under tomlin or colbert have never taken a player from the PAC 12 conference. so if not llyod then NT jordan davis. if neither of those 2 i would be opposed to trading claypool if they can get a 2nd back , then take drake london or chris olave. of course i'm also a fan of trading back.

both of em are playing LT now. . this is cross's 2nd year playing tackle ekwo is in his 3rd , plus has 200 snaps playing left guard. i kind of like the idea of Ekwonu's versatility. if he doesnt excel at LT he can always be moved inside. he has been labeled with the mauler tag. cross would probably be seen as the better pass protector and Ekwonu the better run blocker. cross is listed at 6-5 305 Ekwonu 6-4 320 watch this dude flatten people ..

get 5 OT 330 lbs.+, teach one to snap the ball, have them 5 o-linemen latch onto 5 defenders use your TEs and WRs trap in the running game.
Take the Mauler.

ekwonu just oozes nasty. you can see it in that video. he doesnt just put them on the ground he dives on top of them. he's a punisher. he is exactly the kind of influence this soft team needs. look at the 2nd play on that video. he even slams them while pass blocking .. and that play at around the 25 second mark...he hits the dude at the 10 and the guy lands at the 5 ...

so would you rather watch this guy flatten people while wearing a steeler uniform for the next decade, or win a few more meaningless games this year ? winning yesterday may have already taken him and a few others as an option on draft day off the table. but hey..we'll have the memory of that great victory for at least a few days.
as far as i can tell, when you get around the 19th ,20th pick, your options for BPA might be reduced down to a CB or a WR. taking one of those 2 positions for me is kind of like taking a RB and a TE last year. you might get a good player and it is a position of need and can/will be a future contributor/factor.., but it still wont make the team as a whole significantly better right now. benny snell could have managed 19 yards on 12 carries. just sayin. tomlin and this line are going to wear out najee before his talents can actually be used towards a serious run at a title.

Some team going to make Pickett the top 10 pick of the draft.
Trevor Penning 6'7" 330 lbs Northern Iowa would still be around.

I hear you. Even if we make it in as a wild card we know how far we'll go. About as far as we travel for the one and done game. I agree with the state of our Oline I wouldn't be surprised to see Najee become Nada by season's end. Adding to that is Stupid play calls like flipping your RB the ball 3 yards deep when the opposing defense is spending as much time in your back field as your QB. Najee has no holes to exploit and Ben has about .5 seconds to throw. I didn't expect us to beat the Titans and I honestly don't think we'll win another game this year. I'm not saying he was a bad pick or Muth for that matter. Where there better picks available on the Oline at the time? I don't remember. I do know we better address it next draft or in free agency or kiss 2022 goodbye. We should have cap space to go after a FA or 2 that could help the oline.

It may be a dead horse but the dude is absolutely right. Could have had Creed Humphry a true Center and excellent replacement for Pouncey. The dude is tearing it up for KC and considered a steal of the draft class.
Instead we got a guy that played 4 games at Center his entire college career and is getting his ass kicked out there on a constant and regular basis. Another failed Tomlin experiment just like Artie Burns...
Harris will be a wasted pick if that Oline can't get its shit together and the CENTER is the lynch pin of the Oline its that simple.

Correction .. instead we got Harris, then Freiermuth, then the guy that played 4 games. If you want to argue taking Humphrey instead of Freiermuth, fine. Thinking he's the better choice than Harris is just plain crazy talk. I would also argue that Humphrey wouldn't be having the year he's had if he landed in Pittsburgh. His opportunity for success has been much better than Green's. This entire line has been a disaster, with an offensive scheme that is the worst in the league, with receivers who have underperformed, with an aging QB who has lost 5 steps. Very different than what Humphrey has in KC. Yes, he's much better than Green is at this point and most likely will be better than Green over the course of his career. But this offense has much bigger issues than the Center and I'll still take Harris and Freiermuth over Humphrey.

Okay how many carries for Harris last game? 12 for like 35 yards?

You mean the Harris who will most likely break several Steelers rookie RB records behind a shitty O-line? That Harris?
So we are expected to believe that Benny Snell would be running wild if Humphrey was the Center for the Steelers? Unfortunately, the Steelers offense has so many issues, even a solid Humphrey wouldn't make much of a difference.
And I'd keep Freiermuth over Humphrey as well. His stats are lining up similar to Heath Miller's rookie season. Miller was an awesome TE, but his season high for TDs was 8 ... Freiermuth has 7 to this point (heard he had more TDs than all other rookie TEs combined this year ... Kyle Pitts has 1 TD this year). And he can block too.
You know you love these guys ... and the grass ain't Green-er with Humphrey

We can agree to disagree. I like Harris and Friermuth both. However, when you can't control or dominate the line of scrimmage you end up being a mediocre team at best... you know like 7-6-1 mediocre...
Our biggest area of turnover last year was the Oline it needed to be addressed and they did a half assed half hearted attempt at best.

Joking aside. I'm on MoP's side as far as the Humphrey vs. Harris draft argument. Nothing against Najee, love the kid, and he's definitely the real deal. That being said, football starts in the trenches. You can have a running back talented as all get-out and it won't matter if you don't have big uglies who can get the job done up front. That much has been evidenced time and time again this season. With the benefit of hindsight I'd definitely go o-line with our first pick, but the reality of our situation is that the front office took a gamble on younger guys on the o-line and it really hasn't paid dividends. That all being said, I'm still happy we have Najee on the roster, if we can improve the o-line in the future Najee will only get better. I just hope we improve that o-line relatively quickly as I'd hate to see a career as promising as Najee's get wasted behind porous o-lines, RBs tend to be short-lived in the NFL.
As far as Freiermuth, I absolutely love that pick and wouldn't change that one even if we had the opportunity to go back in time and re-draft. He's the complete package at TE, and he's only scraping the surface of his potential right now. He can catch, and he can block and he's just a rookie. Hopefully he doesn't have a sophomore slump next season.
Either way, the reality is we've got what we've got and I think it's fairly obvious o-line will be a focus going into next season.

"Pro Football Focus ranks Green 32nd among 38 NFL centers this season. Kansas City Chiefs rookie Creed Humphrey, who the Steelers could’ve taken in the second round if they wanted to wait on a tight end, is rated No. 1 overall."
