| Personally, I think people who refuse to forgive Michael Vick or Ben Roethlisberger should read about Saul of Tarsus (a.k.a. Paul the Apostle), and then try to tell me with a straight face that some people don't deserve forgiveness. | |

| I think I'm more surprised they put Gradkowski on IR for a broken finger, but 'obviously' its worse than that just we don't know the extent. | |

| I heard dislocated finger from NBC Sports and he will be out 3-4 weeks.
I wonder what this means when Gradkowski comes back? Who will be the odd man out

| I am good with the signing of Vick. He won't be a sitting duck like Leftwich or Batch were and he's more polished than Grad or Jones. _________________ Twitter: @SteelersYak

I'm very familiar with that story. And I'm all about forgiveness. But that doesn't require me to root for the c@cks@cker on Sundays, does it?

No you don't have to root for him on Sundays, well unless Ben (God forbid) goes down with an injury. Then you'll have to either root for him or against the Steelers. I guess you could root against him and for the Steelers, but I'm not sure how that would work. He throws an INT, then our defense scores a TD? _________________ 60 MIN 53 MEN 1 NATION STEELERS NATION I am the MAN that created the MYTH that started the LEGEND Don't choose good when greatness is available!

| Just great. Michael Vick only signed 15 hours ago or so and he already manages to devide the Steelers fans. I hope he doesn't do the same with the players. That's just one of the reasons I didn't want to have him in the team. Too much controversy around him and for what gain? To have a more or less decent back-up (what I seriously doubt) who probably won't play a minute. | |

Doesn't really matter who's #2 or #3. If Ben goes down for any considerable time we're screwed.
Landry should be #2 based on familiarity with the receivers, and he has improved.
Actually having a guy with Vick's extensive experience as a starter is pretty good for a #3. The Steelers went to the Superbowl in two years that Charlie Batch had to start. Charlie did a good job, but I think the defense had something to do with holding the fort. Todays defense couldn't.

Then you'll have to either root for him or against the Steelers. I guess you could root against him and for the Steelers, but I'm not sure how that would work. He throws an INT, then our defense scores a TD? How about this: Ben goes down; Vick goes down; Landry Jones throws to victory! Jeeze, more people want to give Vick a second chance, but think Landry Jones sucks based on 2 preseasons.
The ironic part of the Vick signing is that he tortured dogs to death for financial gain and sh!ts and giggles (or street cred). Ben sends a check to the local police K-9 division in the cities he plays in on Sundays.
Should that happen, I hope Jones would be able to lead the offense (well at least not give away the game) to victory. I'm not against Jones at this point. IMO, he just hasn't shown an overall improvement that makes me confident he could do that consistently in a 4-6 game stretch. As for the dog, maybe the Steelers need him on the sidelines come game day. You know just to let Vick know, we don't play that here! _________________ 60 MIN 53 MEN 1 NATION STEELERS NATION I am the MAN that created the MYTH that started the LEGEND Don't choose good when greatness is available!

@Fire Arians you've always been cool with me but how can you compare what he did to eating a steak or chicken....that makes no sense Wait a minute. I have 2 cows and 3 chickens in my living room right now and they're telling me they won't watch Vick.
You're right VA. That statement doesn't make sense. Makes sense if you actually saw what goes on with factory farming. If you want to see cruel treatment to animals, how livestock are treated is just as bad as what vick's brother did. But nobody ever seems to have a problem with that. Not that I'm saying either is ok, but look it up. In any case I'm not gonna continue talking about that, that's a convo for a different forum.

http://www.steelersdepot.com/2015/08/gradkowski-has-probably-played-his-last-snap-with-steelers/ Many teary eyed fans will see this and weep. Only 10 meaningful snaps in 3 seasons and $4.95 million. It was a good ride. Landry Jones is on the 3rd year of a 4 year $2.6million deal. I'd say he is back next season too as an inexpensive backup.

http://www.steelersdepot.com/2015/08/gradkowski-has-probably-played-his-last-snap-with-steelers/ This crossed my mind after I had made my post. So it looks like Ben > Mike > Landry as your 1, 2, and 3 QBs. I wouldn't be surprised to see a little competition between Mike and Landry for the #2 spot, though I think Vick gets the #2 based on experience alone...unless he totally sucks it up in the next preseason game. As an aside, it's hilarious to see the social media meltdowns from Steelers' fans, and other people as well.

Ben sends a check to the local police K-9 division in the cities he plays in on Sundays. Opinions differ on whether Ben or Vick is a good guy among some in the league office This puff piece on Goodell by Peter King ran the week before the Steelers played Green Bay in the Super Bowl Goodell said he "doesn't feel any connection'' with Ben Roethlisberger. Not too surprising there....
"The one thing I take a little bit of issue with is when guys tell me they're being screwed,'' Goodell said. "[Most often] they're not recognizing they have a role in it.'' Regarding Roethlisberger, Goodell said when he was investigating what to do with the quarterback, he talked to "I bet two dozen players ... Not one, not a single player, went to his defense. It wasn't personal in a sense, but all kinds of stories like, 'He won't sign my jersey.' ''...
He says he thinks Mike Vick "is sincerely trying.'' And he isn't blind to the fact that the story isn't over, that Vick needs to prove so much more than he can prove in one successful season. "I do believe we need more success stories,'' Goodell said of Vick. "Too much of our society looks for people to fail. I'm not doing this because I felt sorry for Michael. I felt that because he'd been accountable, he had taken responsibility, and he wanted to make a positive difference. But he needed help getting there. That's why we did sort of a 'stage' return ... But Michael said to me, he said my number one goal is to make you proud and ... win that Super Bowl and be that MVP. We talk about that every once in a while. And it could happen. It would be a pretty cool moment.''http://www.si.com/more-sports/2011/01/31/super-bowl-week

| Ron Cook: Forget Michael Vick's past and think about his potential assets to Steelers
August 26, 2015 By Ron Cook / Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
Three words for those of you who are so angry with the Steelers signing Michael Vick that you are threatening to sell your tickets, throw out your Terrible Towels, burn your jerseys and never watch a game again:
Get over it.
You are ridiculous.

that was my first thought too, why does Ron Cook think he has the moral authority to tell others to 'get over it' or that they're 'ridiculous' just because they don't happen to agree with him?

This is just a really divisive issue....both sides have their points as cook notes....I just think it's a major mistake to inflame the situation with heated rhetoric like that. _________________ Previously known as: Steel_Bus_24 Member of Steelers Fever forums since 06
