Neat little article on Heath Miller in Rolling Stone.

“When you're drafted in the first round by the Pittsburgh Steelers, you enter the league already knowing that expectations are high – and the odds of standing out are low. The Steelers have had 19 players elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, with several more soon to be enshrined, so trying to make a name for yourself in Pittsburgh is sort of like trying to make it on Broadway. No matter how big your dreams are, the city is always bigger. And yet somehow Heath Miller walks away from the game as the toughest man in Steel City…”

I loved the Miller pick and think he's an awesome player. But let's get a little perspective here. Miller was the toughest TE in the NFL, but I wouldn't say he's the toughest player in Pittsburgh. Ben is the toughest QB in the NFL. Harrison is the toughest LB in the NFL. DeCastro is probably the toughest G in the NFL. Mitchell is one of the toughest S in the NFL. It's best not to put one above another, unless you say Harrison (that's never a wrong answer when speaking of toughness).
But a cool article non-the-less. Thanks for posting Fan!

Maybe not the toughest but a rock upon which the Steeleers could always rely
He is not low maintenance, he has been no maintenance. He has always put the Pittsburgh Steelers first in every aspect of his professional life. I don’t know that I can describe that. I don’t know if there has been a guy that I have been around that is like him from an unselfish standpoint. Largely and in every instance, we are all human, we all fall short. I don’t know if I have ever seen a regrettable moment in him. That just speaks to who he is.”...
“It goes beyond him being the type of person that makes my job easier,” said Tomlin, his eyes slightly glassy as emotions set in but he kept it in check. “He is the type of person that I want my boys to be. He has inspired me in that way. When I look at him and think about his body of work personally and professionally, as a dad you think about boy how could I raise my sons to be like Heath Miller, to project the things and values he projects?”

It will suck a little now if the Steelers win it all next year. 12 seasons, 3 super bowls and retire on top sounds better. Damn it.
Yeah, that would have been cool to see # 83 hoist another trophy. But just think of all the hits that guy has taken. Of all the Steelers, Miller probably took more big hits than anyone I can think of. He was consistently required to make tough catches in traffic and would hold onto the ball when I don't think many would have. So I have to imagine his future health was the primary driver of his decision.

Heath had some of the best hands in the NFL. However, he was WAY too slow as after the catch he was ran down pretty quickly.
I've got high hopes for Jessie James as he's got good legs and would be dangerous. All the top tier TE's in the league has good speed.
