| Interesting to see how Ben quickly shot down an attempt by Trump to claim Ben would endorse him The story starts with Trump throwing out this chum on Friday After regaling the crowd with the long story of how he successfully courted the endorsement of Bobby Knight, the former Indiana University basketball coach, Mr. Trump rattled off a list of other names of sports figures who he said have supported him. According to the candidate, he also has the support of the star quarterbacks Tom Brady and Ben Roethlisberger...
He said he wanted to have them all address the convention, to be held next month in Cleveland, as examples of “winners,” rather than “these people, these politicians who are going to get up and speak and speak and speak.”http://www.nytimes.com/2016/06/11/us/politics/donald-trump-republican-convention-sports-celebrities.html?_r=2 After being contacted by Ed B. of the P-G, Ben called bullshit on that idea Good for Ben - even if he plans to vote for Trump endorsing him could blow up the locker room - knocking down that claim immediately is further evidence Ben is locked into leading this team and is not going to do anything to distract from that goal I note Brady has not issued a similar disclaimer | |
