Brown was unwilling to go to Buffalo, period. Wasnt even a matter of money at that point. So the deal fell through. Steelers and Bills had stopped talking and both sides had moved on. Market for Brown is pretty bleak right now

Steelers and Bills discussed a trade involving WR Antonio Brown, I'm told, but Brown was clear that he didn't want to go to Buffalo. Source said that there are "very few options left" for the Steelers/Brown.

GM Kevin Colbert said last week #Steelers would not give permission to Drew Rosenhaus to find trade for AB, but they would keep him in the loop. When they kept him in the loop about possible trade to Buffalo, 84 said he wouldn't report.

Why in the hell would they NOT allow AB's agent to find a trade deal.

Going from Dan to ART II is like going from Tagliabue to Goodell.

This is a complete and utter disaster. You either
1. Let him sit and pay him to stay away from the club. This kills your cap space.
2. Trade him for far less than his playing value (i.e. 3rd or 4th).
3. Cut him outright.

4. Give him the Al Davis treatment.

I kind of figured this would happen with the way he's been acting all along. He is getting free agent status whether they release him or not since he'll only go where he wants to go.

Maybe they do, I don't know, but NFL needs to have rules in place to prevent this sort of thing from happening. The guy is under contract the next 3 years. He quits on one team, demands trade, then wants to decide where he goes just like a free agent and get a new contract

If we have to keep him the only way would be to fine the hell out of him every time he says or does anything
detrimental to the team.

On the Mark Madden show, he is interviewing Gerry Dulac from the Post Gazette. Dulac has said he pretty much guarantees there isn't a first-round pick coming back. They're most likely will be a combination of draft picks, but no one seems to know for sure. He said it could be as low as a 4th and 5th round pick.

Steelers are moving Brown before his roster bonus is due, hell or high water.

The Steelers are close to a deal to trade All-Pro receiver Antonio Brown, a source told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette on Friday afternoon.
Three teams are “still alive” in the process, according to the source, but the deal could be completed soon.

The Steelers want to get a deal done before the March 13 start of free agency and before they are obligated to pay Brown a $2.5 million roster bonus on March 17.

Brown has three years remaining on a contract that will pay him $38,250,000 in salary through 2021, though he has indicated he could want a new deal when he is traded. Brown will count slightly more than $21 million — the remaining total of his pro-rated signing bonus — against the Steelers’ salary cap in 2019.

The Steelers were close to finalizing a deal to trade Brown to the Buffalo Bills late Thursday, but the “positive” talks fell apart when Brown indicated he would not report to the Bills if traded.

What they should do is sit on his rights and force him to ride out the rest of his contract. If they continue to let him act like a free agent, then they're going to send a message to any other selfish players with enormous egos that they will be able to act like this regardless of their contract to get what they want.

I feel the same way except that doesn't do the team any good. It's obvious the marriage is over and their is no fixing it. If we can't trade him everything you said is logical. Especially if he comes into camp with this very attitude. In that case I would want to keep him as far away from the team as possible. Put him on the bench inactive for every game. Hell put him on IR. State the reason for IR as mental illness.

Somehow they have to find a way to shut him up. Convince him that if he persists HE WILL MOST LIKELY NEVER PLAY AGAIN ( because he's ours for 3 more years and after that NO one will want him) and he won't make it into the HOF. Bottom line. You can't fix crazy. Not even with duct tape.

I'd love to see him play or be suspended for the remainder of his contract. But I think the distraction wouldn't be worth it....of course that's playing right into his hands.

Steelers originally said they weren't releasing him and were after value in return. Given the fact this apparently still is not done I wonder if Steelers have a line in the sand and aren't taking anything currently offered. Some rumors around were saying they were only getting 4th to 5th round offers. If that's the best they can do maybe best to wait until the draft to keep him from getting what he wants. By that time most teams won't have the cap flexibility to sign him.

Originally I thought anything less than 1st round pick was a loss but the Raiders 2 at 35th pick in draft would work for me to end this.

It's been about 30 hours since AB said we'd know in 24 hours. Maybe Steelers got over the 1st barrier and someone offered a suitable draft pick but now that team is forced to deal with AB's contract demands. If he wants 18-20 a year we may be stuck with him.
