Smith-Schuster's release saves the Patriots**** just $647,059 against the cap, according to Over the Cap, and he will carry a dead-money charge of $2.63 million in 2025 as well.
the cheats only save 650k this year by cutting him, so what does that say about ju ju ?
Yeah, not very promising, is it?
well they basically fired an employee they have already paid... either they are very frustrated with him, or they want the roster spot open and they feel that the 89 other players deserve a longer look than him. or maybe he asked to be released

Starting in 2023, the NFL got rid of the series of cut dates and now only has one at the end of the preseason. Teams can still start with 90 players, but are not required to make a series of cuts before the final cutdown day. Now teams are only required to have 53 players at the cutdown deadline, they can can conduct their business how they see fit until then.
cut down day is AUG 27TH.

Aiyuk deal is still not reportedly off the table. San Fran still isn't offering him what he wants and he reportedly refused to go to Cleveland or New England (which kind of made me like the guy a bit more if I'm being honest).
I don't have a problem with them trading for him so long as we're not giving up a king's ransom to get him. This offense could really be something special with Aiyuk and Pickens on the field together. If they can keep their egos in check that is.

I don't like what I am hearing they would have to offer. They want the 2025 2nd and third round pick... no thanks... roll with what we have. Aiyuk doesn't have all that great numbers to be demanding the pay he wants and the picks the 9ers want for him.

No, I'd trade a 2nd round pick for him, absolutely. The Khan man will find a way to get it back anyway, if we need it.

i wouldnt even mind if they gave a 1st rd pick for him. he is what you want a 1st rd receiver to become when you draft him. my beef is paying him 30+ million a year. i just think its a bad idea handing out a contract that big until the QB situation for 2025 is resolved. you dont need 2 batmans on a team. you need a batman and a robin to compliment batman. if the new OC wants to lean heavy on the run, then there isnt enough balls thrown to keep 2 divas happy.

I think one of those divas is going away after this season though (see ya George)

every rookie made the 53 roster except ryan watts. im a bit shocked they kept 5 safeties and only 3 olb's. I also dont see the point of 4 TE's. i'd rather have another OL .
QB 3 OL 8 RB 3 WR 5 TE 4
DL 8 S 5 OLB 3 ILB 5 CB 5
edit - ryan watts was put on IR list. also 8 DL? last year it was 6. i'm guessing they are counting leal as a back up OLB.
